After trying the epl cave, zg and the sheep and being in a semi small guild (50ish) and me being about the only pet collector in my guild, theres a sweet spot in Krasarang Wilds http://www.wowhead.com/npc=58883 (feverbite)"elite" spider that calls upon a load of critters, i used my mage kept poly on it and killed the critters, surrounding trees also have critters much better wit 2, 1 tank the spider other kill critters surrounding the tree. Only took a few hours.

i never noticed it before, but mine is also showing as an Uncommon in my pet window, though the guild vendor and website list it as rare

My armadillo pup is green, not blue, in the battlepets viewer. However, on the armory under my collection, it still shows as blue! Is this a glitch?

That cave in EP is def the best. :)

So now with patch 5.0whatever I have this pet available to me from a diff toon, opposing faction, diff server. I'm having to rethink my WHOLE strategy on pet collecting. :/

Fyi, armory update is no longer a viable way to update one's collection here :(

i find that the best place for a small guild to grind creature kills is that cave in Eastern Plague lands, right at the beginning of the aria (where the dwarf is stuck in the spider webs.) I believe Fiona sends you over there on a quest to find the dwarf.
Anyway, it's FILLED with buggies to kill. My baddie and I walked through spamming AOEs and went from 800 to 2300 in an afternoon. Another good place is the deeprun tram. the rats re-spawn really fast there.

Our little guild finally got the achievment after 4 months lol. Such a cute lil guy but shame he doesn't do much, well except roll up into a ball XD

Did some ask for a link? :) The Armadillo Pup is a exceedingly cute animal obtained through the painstaking task of killing 50,000 critters. Doing it alone in the guild makes it even more difficult for you smaller guilds. It's most definitely not impossible, though. In fact, people can do it pretty quick if you set your mind to it. Just so everyone knows, you can keep the pet if you leave your guild. It may seem obvious, but I was terrified at the prospect of losing all my guild pets when I left, and seeing it typed out in black and white would have reduced my stress significantly!

BRIANNI! How could you call rats icky! GRRRRR! It's bad enough that there is a pest control achievement, and people already kill so many rats in WoW already, and now this!? Next thing u know, people r gonna start marching down stormwind and orgrimmar holding up signs saying: Kill the rats! "Snaps out of it" Oops, sorry about that... I like rats... Lost control.

I did this in Dragonblight at Agmar's Hammer. Just within the gates there is an area with a caged Lucid Test Subject and 4 cockroaches walking around the cage that are instant respawns. I'm a hunter so I set up a pet attack macro and just spammed mindlessly while I watched TV or a movie. Kills about 1 cockroach/second.

The armadillo pup will periodically curl up in a little protective ball as his idle animation. Sadly, he has no on-click vocalization.

If you're interested, I worked out in ZG you can kill on average 1 critter a second. That's 3600 critters an hour, which makes 50k critters about 14 hours.

....and what's 14 hours to a pet hunter?

The raid trick doesnt work anymore. You only get 1 credit toward the achiev per critter killed. The best way to get this achiev, esp with just 2 people in my guild is to have someone camp the tunnel in EPL and have his alt kill some penguins in Icecrown, while waiting for the respawn of the tunnel. And having someone constantly killing at the snake place in ZG. Got about 2k an hour like that. Also, KT's and toxic wastling kills count too. Also, Stormchops are an AFKers best friend.

If you want to multitask while you work on this acheivement, eat Stormchops and then go into the Deeprun Tram. You will be zapping rats left and right without pushing buttons. You can go do your laundry, cook dinner, etc. Set a timer and come back in 30 minutes and eat another stormchop. Lather, Rinse, and Repeat. A guildie found this strat on Wowhead and we have gone from 18000 to 48000 in just under 2 days (all day Sunday and Monday night). This is with 3-5 of us working on it.

In Eastern Plaguelands, in the tunnel that you find the Worgen lady's Dwarf friend in front of, there are literally TONS of Beetle, Spider, Scorpion, and Cockroach critters, if you want to get this Armadillo quickly, I suggest heading there at least once a day and killing all the critters inside.

Darkwood in Tol Barad Peninsula is swarming with spiders and they're easy to take down with AoE spell as they're in groups. Especially good place if you're doing TB dailies at the same time!

I cant believe this pet forces you to kill 50000 critters, i get inspried from Oxhorn the Rabbit Stew, maybe the best place to kill at least abotu 10 to 18, would be the Deepholm place, you have critter shale spiders, hope it helps

I heard that in ZG the area where the snake boss was (bring back ZG!) there were mass amounts of snakes. Going there i found that this was true and though there arent as many as EPL they spawn faster and there are no questers there it interfear. just AOE the place wait 30 and start over. Oh and the Toxic Wasteling can help to. The critters it kills counts so even AFK you are racking kills.

If you are Alliance, best place to farm critters is the Deep Run Tram station on the Ironforge side. The rats respawn instantly. Grab some guildies in group and get your achievement in no time. I use my Toxic Wasteling to eat the ones that spawn behind me. Just be considerate of players doing the quest to round up rats.

Okay, there's something really wrong with having to slaughter thousands of defenseless little critters to get this adorable armadillo pup. Just wait 'til D.E.H.T.A. hears about this! I could see maybe limiting it to killing the icky critters like spiders, cockroaches and snakes. Oh, and rats and maggots! And don't forget those nasty toads that look all cute until you pick them up and they... well, you get the idea.
