Disgusting Oozeling
Binds when used
Use: Teaches you how to summon this companion.
Bubbles and idles about.
Bubbling (constant); vocalizations (on-click)
Gives owner a debuff - reduces resistances by 20. Drinks from Dark Iron Ale Mug.
To date, this is the only non-combat pet which actually affects combat. Its 'Disgusting Aura' grants -20 defense, -20 to all resistances, and adds a green tint to the owner (group members remain unaffected by this aura). Much like Jubling, if you offer a [Dark Iron Ale Mug] to this pet, it will eagerly move toward it and lap it up.
After Patch 4.0.3a multiple level 50+ creatures have had the Oozing Bag added to their loot tables. Some new sources for the bag include but are not limited to: [54-58] Dredge Crusher and [54-56] Dredge Striker in Silithus, and [54-55] Shifting Mireglob in Swamp of Sorrows.

Who could possibly want a pet that reduces your combat ratings? Plenty of people, including my undead shadow priest! Since she typically fights from a distance, she can handle the debuffs. Plus, she can override the oozeling’s green tint with the purple tint of her shadowform. Neat, huh?

Got mine in swamp of sorrows after about a half hour of farming. I'd say I got lucky, took about 10 oozing bags. This was my first attempt at farming a pet too.
Maybe it's not easy being green, but I love it anyway.
Oozes in Hinterlands and plaguelands drop the bags most in my exp. Never had any luck with them.
Spotted a DO on the BMAH tonight though, snagged it for 1.8k first time winning a BMAH sale it its something I've been trying for off and on for years! If your RNG is real bad on things like this, I suggest checking BMAH.
I have had such bad luck on the Crawdad and Flying Dino pet that I guess this guy was my payback. Wasn't even looking for him and looted him in Silithus while doing a "kill 10 worms" quest. Awesome little pet. Bout time I had some good luck in this game for a change.
All farming in the swamp or silith .... swamp = elixer of waterwalking verry helpfull.
Do i hear no one talking about Hellfire at the pools of Aggonar.
did no one farm there or ?
plz infoJust leaving a reply for the "giving up on the emerald proto whelp"...
Those whelps have been there every time I've gone so far, which has been 4 different times. On the Garrosh server, different times of day. There has been at least 3-5 of them every time.
I was also wondering where a good place is to farm. I was thinking HF or is it GH that has all those slimes near where a rare spwns?
I haven't started to try and farm this pet, but I was wondering if anyone had a recommended place to farm for this little fella.
I've given up on the Emerald Prot Whelp for the time being and will be focusing on this guy in the mean time!
I was inspired by some of the stories of oozes dropping quickly, so I farmed some oozes while in Felwood. Do not recommend it - after about 2 hours, only one or two oozing bags even dropped. I stopped in Swamp of Sorrows and tried my luck there for four hours- no oozeling. Giving up for the time being :(
Had tried many times before for this with no luck. Today I got it off my 92nd kill of shiftling mireglobs in Swamp of Sorrows. :)
they should do an alchemy version of this pet, with the effect being a pots effect rather than this - resistance that this gives off. Imagine a red version giving the pet owner the effects of Flask if the Warm Sun! Every one would have the pet:)
Swamp of Sorrows - 9 Bags
I was running in circles through the swamp for "default" battle pets in this zone. Killing every shifting mireglob crossing my path. I was talking to my BF and said sth. like "it's not that easy to get one though...", killed a mireglob and the loot was a bag together with some trash. Was the first time I ever saw a bag and trash together as one loot and thought "maybe this means something" and tada there it was. :) Now my BF want one too *sigh*
got one as a christmas gift from a fellow collector buddy :)
I absoluetely love this pet. He will be in my core group for eternity.
This pet is so hard the drop rate is very low and I've tried a couple of times in Swamp of Sarrows and nothing.
Over seven hours in the Swamp of Sorrows (very appropriate name), hundreds of mobs slain and over 200 bags opened, but I finally got this little guy.
Got this on the second oozeling I tried in Ungoro Crater. Killed one after seeing the notification on my map regarding the drop, then was about to log off and saw another oozeling go by. Killed it and it dropped a bag containing the pet. Very happy not to have had to grind for this one!
wrong page sorry :S
Does anyone know why there is a difference in quality in this pet? Mine is rare but several of my guildmates that have the same pet all state that it's of common quality.
The only thing I can think of is that all of them got theirs post Cata and I got mine somewhere toward the beginning of Wrath.
Can anyone else confirm?
Does anyone know if the drop rate on the Oozing Bag from the SOS Shifting Mireglobs was nerfed? Wowhead has the droprate listed as being just under 10%, but I've killed close to 150 slimes and have only had 5 bags drop. It doesn't take a terribly long time to kill these as an 85 druid, but with the drop rate being closer to 3-4% for me, it's getting pretty frustrating pretty fast.
'Expunge' hits like a truck when it hits. When it hits. It seems to be around 33% which, unfortunately, is pretty unacceptable when compared to similarly powerful attacks by other pets.
