I have this and my Celestial Dragon together while leveling up other pets and they make a great tag team especially on those tough wilds that just "get your goat" so to speak. If you do this combo, have your dragon with arcane winds then switch to your eye, open with drain power, then use mana surge (does have a chance to miss) then follow with psychic blast. hopefully by the time this is over you should either need to switch back to the dragon or the battle is finished. GL! :)

Slychd - It could simply be bad timing. This battle pet and the Restless Shadeling are on daily and/or timed spawns from what I can tell. I killed all the Arcane Eyes in Deadwind Pass roughly 30 minutes ago and none of them have respawned. I've also read that the Shadelings only come out somewhere between midnight and 9am EST, then despawn late morning.
EDIT: After posting this comment the Eyes started respawning again. So figure a 30-40 minute timer on respawns.
This pet seems to be currently glitched, as the "iris" seems to not have the proper graphic
@Eldarmark, the Arcane Eye is stil available, they tend to float around the upper ledges of Kara itself, and not along the ground where they used to be. I've seen several in the past while. If you still have trouble, you can go to the dragon (human form) in Blasted Lands and ask her to send you back before the Legion invasion. Hearthing will break the spell and return you to the present. Happy Hunting!
For those wondering, like me, these are still obtainable as of patch 7.2. I went back at odd hours for a few days and then suddenly, bam, a whole slew of them everywhere. Don't give up! They still spawn
Their location is your one stop shopping place for pet leveling. After doing the trainer whom it is a gift to fast level a lvl one pet to 6 with Jack's first move, you can then go on to eyes. As said they single spawn so perfect for a lowbie to take a shot then switch. They always seem to be plentiful. I've found 2 rares, only come in one build. Bit mean ganging up three against one tho. :)
About 5am Zangarmarsh time or 7pm EDT I snagged a rare Arcane Eye first battle to replace the green from a previous trip. They are on the grounds and sometimes on the balconies of the towers. At this time there were many of them all around the place. There is also the Master Pet Trainer with the daily quest if you have unlocked them :)
Flew into Deadwind Pass at 3:30 AM CST on a Sunday, they were all over the place. They respawned until about 3:37.
If you are Alliance and have a flying mount, there is a shortcut: take the portal in the mage tower in Stormwind to the Blasted Lands, and then fly over the mountians. You can multi-task this one - while in the Blasted lands you can check for the Scorpling on the mesa near the portal, and do the daily pet battle in Deadwind Pass as well as the Restless Shadeling.It's a flying eye. A blueish, glowing, flying eye.
And while that's interesting and all, it doesn't really have a decently cohesive skillset.
Many of the skills it has benefit from other skills which it doesn't have, making it significantly less useful than it might have otherwise been.I went over to pick one of these guys up. There were 3 spawned when I got there, all poor quality. I got an uncommon on the 5th try. Took me another 12 fights over the next few hours before I found my first rare. I shall name him Agamotto...
As others have posted, when a pet is as hard to locate as this, if you are not capturing due to quality please log out in battle, rather than kill needlessly. That way you leave the non-rare for the rest of us, and can log back in and battle a new one.
Nexus Welpling's Arcane Storm weather gives a big damage buff to Arcane Eye. Together they make a killer team versus flying pets. Capture the Eye at Karazan.
A few weeks ago, I saw one in the graveyard by the tamer but by the time I killed the bat, it had despawned (or splash damage?) I have checked back many times and at all times of the day and haven't seen one since.
Been loking for this for a few days, without luck. May 2018. DWP and Kara have been redone, and I haven't see any other pet users in the area farming them... is this no longer available here?
This is my go-to pet for tackling Flying pets.
Spent about 20 minutes trying to find some around Karazhan's vicinity at 10:37am EST. Only found a grey quality one, at 43.8, 67.4. Seem to be tricky to find.
I don't ever see this pet come up, but it should. It was the first wild pet I ever collected that was rare, so I've been using it for a long time. I still think it's one of the strongest pets to use against flyers. If you can pop off Drain Power and then Mana Surge without dying, you'll easily tear down your opponent.
Today, July 7, 2017 - at Deadwind Pass trying to get my Eastern Kingdom Safari Achievement. It's 9:30AM EST and I was able to find a poor quality shadling in the cavern/cellar. I will upgrade it with a stone. Cool little pet. I went to do battle with the pet master and while I was standing there an Arcane Eye spawned right beside me. Perfect timing! It was an uncommon too! :) Was also able to get an uncommon Lofty Libram at the Dalaran crater along with an uncommon Snowshoe Hare. Great, pet hunting, morning.
I go there daily for the pet battle and tonight not one single arcane eye anywhere. Usually quite a few around, I use to get some quick xp on little guys. Glad I got one when I did I guess. Odd they'd remove them all. Wonder if the other pet that supposedly spawns early morning or late night is still going to be there? Never have seen that one yet, bad timing. Probabaly gone also :(
