Minfernal

It really bothers me that now when you go pet hunting there are folks from other servers in the area. It seems to me Blizzard is trying to make it harder for us to get some of the pets or achievements. I have been trying since day 1 to get this pet. nope always at least 5 other folks not from my server farming as well. thanks blizzard for getting me from reaching a goal.

The reason you see them on flight paths and not when you land is because of Cross Realm Zones. When you're on a flight path you are on your server. When you land you become part of the Cross Realm Server. Therefore; not the same server. GG Blizz.

After the server restart, I found one hiding in a tree, circled around like a madman hitting my 'interact with target' keybind and once I got on even ground, it sent me into the battle. Until they fix it, I guess thats a way to go about it :C Good luck.

Little late in posting this, but I was able to get this last Saturday morning on an alt on the Skywall server.  Was flying my own mount over from Mt Hyjal and saw a paw on my minimap.  Figured it was a rat, but was shocked that it was a Minfernal.  It was not inside the little pools, it was all by itself sort of closer to the mountain.  There were several people in the area, but they were all hovering low near the little pools. It's a poor quality but my search is over!

Got mine today, after spending 5 or so hours yesterday trying everything that sounded even remotely plausible, and another 2 hours today doing nothing but flying around. I'm of the opinion that nothing you do actually affects the spawn, and that anything people have noticed that seems to affect it is just coincidence.

It's so disappointing to fly over and see 6 spawns, knowing that when you land you'll get sucked into a cross realm nightmare and there will be none.

As of Patch 5.1 it appears these no longer spawn on server restart. Something Blizz stated would be the case. Going to be a lot of patience needed in order to find one. Good luck to everyone!

Tried for several days off and on, then tried as recommended, killing any tamable or non tamable critters in area and within 30 mins I got 2 to pop! Discovered something I hope will be extremely helpful: If you want to farm for your rares, go ahead, BUT if you're looking for a rare of a very hard to find pet, you can be kind to others by simply logging off if it's not what you want! When you come back into the game the pet is still there, but you can now move on and leave it for someone else!

i think these Minfernals are bugged..

once i use the flying thingy from orgrimmar to felwood i fly above the spawn of the minfernals

at that time i see 5-7 minfernals walking around there..but when i get my mount and sprint over to that spawn they are all gone..

I believe that the Minfernal shares a spawn with the Tainted Rat. The rats usually spawn as regular critters. Killing them causes another to spawn almost immediately in the area with a small chance to spawn as a battle pet and an even smaller chance to spawn as a Minfernal. This explains why a server reset does not result in a Minfernal spawn. I also noticed that the wolf on the West will come down and kill a rat, leading to a very small "natural" spawn chance. Verification is needed.

IMO, Blizzard really dropped the ball on this one. I understand rarespawns, but the only way I ever *see* a Minfernal is to take the FP, and I have yet to battle one. They give us two achievements that hinge on this pet, and make it impossible to find. If they insist on their ridiculous CRZ, they should up the spawn rate from .0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 1% on the zone next to Felwood and 0% in the actual zone.

FINALLY!  I've been logging in several times a day with an alt withoug ever even seeing a single one of these things.  What I did see was a lot of other people doing the same thing.

Until 1:30am server time last night when I happened to log in before heading to bed.  There was no one there and there was one.single.Minfernal.

Poor quality but I'll take it.

I tried the flight path approach to get the Minfernal it worked. Took me a couple attempts to target one close enough but its alot easier than spending hours/weeks waiting for a "possible" spawn.

I finally got mine! After parking a toon on 4 different servers and just randomly checking everytime I played. Two had spawned on Aggrammar. Just a common, but I used a battle stone on him. He is by far one of my favorite pets! Good Luck to those still looking for this guy and just keep checking for him. I wouldn't sit and camp him though on one server, jump around! Also be kind to your fellow hunters and just pick up one and stone it if its not a rare!

Tip, get a character on Genjuros (EU). Last 3 days I've seen untoutched Minfernals.

Another pro tip. Use a hard-hitting pet on them. Magic pets cant get more than 40% dmg in one hit (one round cooldown). So hit for 40%, pass next...and hit for 40% again, and pet is at 20% and capturable.

Tialeen, thank you so much for the information. I made the macro and ran around the scar one and a half times til a minfernal spawned.  Poor but hey I HAVE ONE :)

Since Draenor is so full with campers I created a lvl 1 on a spanish low populated realm, my boyfriend flew me over to felwood and I logged her once a day to check for minfernals. A couple of times I found a few, went through the long process of moving towards the minfernal, getting killed, corpse walk closer and spam key bind to target while having the minfernal targetted while still dead. Today I finally got my rare. I also got the flayer youngling like this.

Finally caught mine at 2323 EU server time (common quality but who cares?!) by the pillars near Shatterscar Vale (much love to the person who posted that they found theirs there..I have been contantly checking!) Just logged in and thought to check, as I had an alt parked there, and what do you know! No one else there, and very glad I didn't have to stay up til 4am for the server restart :)

I'm having some kind of phasing issue. I fly over Felwood, and as I'm on the flight path, I see numerous Minfernals on my map. Then when I go there, I see none. I tested this on multiple toons, and had the same issue. Even on a level 60 paladin that never quested there.

However, I went on a level 60+ Deathknight, on an oceanic server. And there were 4 minfernals there. Nobody else in sight!
