This pet can really deal out some damage!.... but at what cost? After playing with Inner Vision I found that it only increases the Lofty Librams next attack... and not other pet's attacks that are going to happen. So using it with anything actually seems to defeat it's purpose. You might as well spend your time mashing one button then doubling the damage that you would have done anyways... Am I wrong here? A different option is to use Curse of Doom, Shadow shock 2 times and then Amplify M.
1st time I went after this guy I spent hours and about a week and only managed to score an Uncommon. Months later, Children's week popped up and I used a rare stone on him and leveled him up so I wanted more.
Last one on my Eastern Kingdom Safari! Finally got it as a secondary near the Crater. With a rat :) Camping did not work, none in snowy area. Good luck
Sisters of Elune just before 9am thrusday today - There were about 6 of these guys fluttering about. I took the uncommon and common - left about 4 poors there for others. Seems today is a Lofty Day!
Just found out about this pet for some reason, while i was hunting, someone left a white because they already had one, I really enjoy coming across people that nice. Was actually hoping to help the person get an uncommon or even rare, but they left shortly after. Did get an uncommon before I was done so I am really happy.
Finally found one up yesterday on one of my fly-bys. It was only a poor, but I figured at least I'll have one. Today on my first daily in pandaria, got a magic stone :) Super happy to finally have this one :D
At least with this one you can literaly throw the book at your oppenents!
Was going to catch one just to catch'em all. And my very first pass over very first one I saw it was a rare. Oh happy day. :)
Wow. Reading these comments I guess naivete is a good thing! I happened to fly past Dal Crater today as I was levelling my newly-acquired Terrible Turnip along with my level 8 Bombling and level 9 Little Fawn. Saw this pet and thought, "Lofty Libram", I bet this is the only place to get this. Captured a UC on my 1st fight and got about 8 others before getting a rare on fight 9 in about 1/2 an hour.
@ Nehima: I think you have that backwards. Since this comes in only one breed, you're much better off holding out for a rare than using up a stone on it, as you don't have to worry about that scenario where you find a rare, but it's a lousy breed, or just not the one you want.
There are enough battle pets that your magic battle-stones should be used on; just use persistence with this one.
No glaring weaknesses, well rounded stats. Can go birdhunting or actually be quite powerful versus humanoids, which is a bit unusual for magic family.
Arcane explosion is not very strong but useful to remove shields or decoys.
Amplify Magic can be fun since it buffs the active pet, not just the Libram.
I do feel that it is a pretty weak pet all in all, no real true strengths. There are better birdhunters amongst the magic family and there are better humanslayers in other families.
accidentally discovered these while passing through hillsbrad, it was love at first site. lofty libram has been my main pet ever since. anyone have any team suggestions for this guy?
Flew around for about an hour clearing out rats in hopes of Lofty Libram spawning with no luck. Today I flew over just to check and saw them all over the place. Caught an uncommon and named it Levar ^.^
Difficult, but not impossible. I'm farming 3 of each rare battle pet - it took about two days of flying around the crater, killing every rat and (occasional) libram I saw to get all three.
Don't kill the rats outside of a pet battle, it takes the battle pets much longer to respawn if you do it that way. Pet battle them, clear them out. Lofty Librams will pop up about every 5th to 6th circuit. They do not ever, as far as I have seen, show up as secondary battle pets.
By chance while farming for the Snowshoe Hare did I happen upon this lil sweet magical gem - Was not even aware they existed.
Location: Hillsbrad Foothills 28, 32
Searched for over an hour on Staghelm today and still have yet to see this pet at all.
Does anyone know if this can be a secondary pet in a battle in this zone or is it always the first pet?
I managed to get one after about half an hour farming. Was flying in circles and grinding rats (which led to me getting an UC Snowshoe Hare) I found a common Libram in the SW area of the ruins at 5:30pm server on Undermine.
If you ever run into the impossible scenario where you have a rare Lofty Libram AND a rare Snowshoe Hare in the same fight, hands down capture the Snowshoe Hare. End of story!
