This pet drops off of Jadefang, a rare spider located within the Crumbling Depths caves of Deepholm. To gain access to the rarespawn requires the use of an item provided from the Therazane faction daily, Underground Economy. See our Community Guide: Tiny Shale Spider for details.

With a bit of ingenuity, engineers can also utilize Nitro Boosts to reach Jadefang. The belt enchant will sometimes malfunction and launch the player into the air, offering another way up into the rarespawn's cave.

went in and tamed momma at 4 am, 15h 24m later respawned and i got baby, thank god too, cuz i ran out of pets to lvl on the purple spiders at around hour 7 haha. nah i went to bed after i tamed, but i did wake up slightly before the 7hr min respawn.

A good macro I am using when and if he spawns is:

/target Jadefang
/stopmacro [noexists]
/cast Instantcastspell

(Of course insert your instant cast spell in.)

This only works if you spam it _all the time_. It is not a passive macro.

This is only to ensure that if he spawns you tag him first before anyone else is camping him. Instead of Jadefang spawning, you taking a while to target him, and cast your spell.

First time looking for the pet it was up but without daily quest, not being a Night Elf, i found 'triggz' wowhead comment to work for me :)

How to: "If you are lazy, but ingenuitive, you can unplug your ethernet cable for about 6 seconds as you fly into the cave and up to this spot. Got up there on my second try :P"

When the daily came up I kept checking back all day at intervals but never saw her, I figured I would wait until the daily passed. So yesterday, mid-day I decided to just check if she was there. Sure enough, she was, and I could even see her from below. I promptly blasted myself up and got a tiny shale spider.

Stayed there last night for 4-5 hours waiting for it to spawn. Only other visitors were an 85 gnome hunter and an 84 draenai shaman, but both left after a brief 2-5 min. stay. I guess they figured that I wasn't going anywhere. It finally spawned about 11:55pm eastern time (10:55pm my server time). I had setup npcscan to catch it, but it didn't (for some strange reason). But got my pet. Can't wait to get my hunter to 85 and go tame him too someday. :)

Just obtained this lovely little Jade fella half an hour ago.

Was doing dailies and clicked my target macro and Jadefang was up!

Faerie fired a nearby crab and let it kill me at the base of the ledge, and ghost whisped it up to the ledge:)

The cutest little spider ever!

Now we just have to get my friend one too :D

If you are a NE you can get to Jadefang easily. Simply stand below her cave opening and let one of the worms kill you. Once you release you can fly into her tunnel via flying wisp form and rez right in front of her. This may work with other classes as well but I am not sure they stay on the flying ghost mount in the tunnel.

Important to know that you cannot obtain the quest item necessary to launch yourself into the cave unless you have a particularly daily which is phased until you open up the quest chain.

I successfully obtained this pet on live, thanks to help from Wowhead. If you follow the directions there exactly, she was pretty easy to obtain. I was level 83 when I killed her as a shadow priest, I did use my shadowfiend to make the fight a little easier, but even still it was close, I ended (after healing myself a bit) with about 15k HP. I am pretty sure I was the first person to tag her, since she was up when I looked. Good luck!!

So it may be known I did this on my rogue with nitro boots and Sub spec for shadow step. I would be under the ledge on the white stone and trigger my nitro boots. You would want them to fail. once failed u get shot in the air.best if you already tageted one of the lil spiders before doin since this is alittle fast ^^ once in air shadow step and there you have it.

Also note. JadeFang did a furry attack that was dropping my HP really fast. I killed him with 12% of my health left. Happy Farmin.

Out of all the spiders I've seen, I don't think I've ever seen one quite as extraordinary as this. Although I'm not sure I can really classify it as a true arachnid. For starters, it doesn't have eight legs. That, and typical spiders don't look like shiny gemstones with seven sparkling green eyes. Well, the Smolderweb is kinda sparkly, so I suppose exceptions can be made.
