This pet drops off of Jadefang, a rare spider located within the Crumbling Depths caves of Deepholm. To gain access to the rarespawn requires the use of an item provided from the Therazane faction daily, Underground Economy. See our Community Guide: Tiny Shale Spider for details.

With a bit of ingenuity, engineers can also utilize Nitro Boosts to reach Jadefang. The belt enchant will sometimes malfunction and launch the player into the air, offering another way up into the rarespawn's cave.

I got this pet a few weeks ago when I was flying around doing the Therazane dailys and NPCScan pinged that the rare mob was there in the cave. I didn't have the quest item from the daily, so I found a method that is a bit cheap but it worked after a few tries. Basically, I pushed the standby button on my cable modem and flying into the cave immediately. 2/3 of the way there, I hit the button again to reconnect before getting d/c'ed. Done right, you get dismounted just as you reach the ledge.

Just got mine 10 mins ago! I used the Ricket's Ticker item from the quest Underground Economy and Jadefang was waiting for me :). I've only been pursuing the pet 3 days now guess I am lucky with this one lol! Also, earlier today I had went up there and found a chest with the world drop sword in it called Dirk's Command. GL with finding yours <3

The "Ghost-Trick" (getting killed on the edge, flying as ghost on the platform) worked perfect for me. And there she was waiting for me 5 minutes ago, first try.

Got mine yesterday morning via the Ticker method. I'd had the quest in my log(completed, but not turned in so I could keep the Ticker) for about a week now, camping for it at some times, other times just stopping by while doing other stuff. Finally hopped up there last night while doing Deepholm dailies, and there she was. Nobody else around, easy kill. Didn't seem to be too many people looking for her, in the the times I'd been there over the week, only twice did anyone else come up.

I got this pet yesterday 4/21/11, on Runetotem-US, 8:45pm server time, after 8 hours of camping in the cave. I used the Ricket's Tickers method to launch myself from the top of the closest pillar up into the cave.

NPCscan went off four times-- the first three times were caused by other hunters who had previously tamed Jadefang. They would release their tamed version of Jadefang in the cave right there beside me. >_<

4th time was the charm!

farming is quite good for this pet but i just popped up there doing my quests i killed it 3 times on my realm in 2 weeks 1 for my main and 2 for my hunter (pet and hunter pet) for me easy to find

I just got it on my level 3 banker this morning. :D :D Got my lvl 85 mate (who had the bomb daily) to boost himself up to the jadefang cave entrance, summon me using "have party will travel", I stayed at cave entrance, he killed jagefang and I looted! Ta Da!! Snazziest banker ever!! <3 <3 Note: make sure you're banker still has this hearthstone. Oops.

After having no success with the Fox Kit in Tol Barad, i decided to give Jadefang another chance. I camped him for around 2 hours this noon already while watching TV - no luck.
Because i was so frustrated not to have the Fox Kit yet, the joy and happiness over this little critter was overwhelming! My guildmate can tell! :)
It's pretty camped on our server - Several hunters want it as their pet - but now its mine! HAHA!

Just got it 5 minutes ago, I've been logging in and out intermittently the past week to see if he's been there, not camping him properly. I logged in a couple of days ago to see a Hunter with him as a pet leaving the cave, which makes me think I may have just missed him...depressingly.

However, to get up there I used the method suggested on wowhead. I unplugged my ethernet cable, forced lag so could fly in the cave, flew up there then replugged in. Worked like a charm! :)

Just a note to other boomkin druids seaking this pet: It IS possible to get when under leveled & under geared. A bit of creativity is all it took. I started with entangling roots, three stacks of faerie fire, moonfire, insect swarm, wrath/starfire, star surge as it procs. When it broke free from the roots i used a potion i had that allows you 10 seconds of no damage to get a head start, when that wore off and it went into its frenzy, i canceled it out with typhoon and finished it off. BUFFS! :)

think he was roughly a 14 hour spawn timer on our server (unless someone killed him before I logged in after my other guildie killed it). Had no issues killing him to get the pet. Happy hunting!!

Technically, it's not so much an "arachnid" as an elemental creature... like a Gyreworm is.

Love mine. Been trying for it for a week or two now. My wife is very jealous. She's been trying for much longer!

I'm a bad, bad gnome. I made a hunter cry when I snagged this one! Literally. I found crystallized tears and everything. It's not my fault she wasn't paying attention and Holy Nova is fast!

Expect some mild competition if you're attempting to grab this one; Jadefang has a unique shale spider skin that makes it attractive for hunters to tame. I got it on my first attempt, but I had two hunters also camping the spawn.

Just found a new way to get this pet as an orc rogue. I used a giant growth elixir and the bones of transformation item. With a bit of luck on shadow step I manned to get up there jumping up and down .

Not sure if this is helpfull to anyone but i managed to get up to spawn point no Jadefang there. I was expecting to wait a LONG time for spawn but decided to run round cave as i heard a chest spawns there also. Ran over the spawn point and back out and NPC scan goes off and there she is standing behind me. Super easy kill for 85 Enhance shammy.
Ofc i dont expect it to be so easy for everyone i got lucky as the bombs wasnt the daily today if u donthand quest in then u get to keep bombs

I'm having WAY too much luck lately! I got this little jewel by letting myself get killed by a gyreworm and then wisping back into the cavern to rez up in the upper cave where Jadefang spawns. Thank heavens for wisping! I had to wait a couple of hours but Jadefang finally spawned at 2:59pm US Eastern time on Tanaris. I was really surprised I didn't have any competition for him. I might go back at another time to try to tame him but these mini-pets are my pride and joy!

Talk about least expected. I am home today with a cold so I was all set to spend the day camping. I set myself up in the spot (using the daily bomb boost method I kept.) Two others were already camping. I logged out of my main computer. I did some work then remembered I wanted to set up my second computer to camp while I worked. I log in and right there she was! I couldn't believe it. I immediately moonfired her (nobody else was around) and proceeded to claim my pet. Next to farm is "Thing".....

Got my this little guy just a few minutes ago. Spawn timer has been confirmed to be at 12 hour intervals as Jadefang was stolen from me and killed by a priest last night at 6:38pm. Logged on at 7:02am and sure enough, there was Jadefang. My anger from getting sniped has subsided now that I got my very own. Thank you sleeplessness! :D

I got this pet on my 85 druid. i waited 9-10 hours for the rare spawn which someone had told me that they tamed it at an earlier time so when it was 12 hours after i decided to go raid with my guild. I came back the next day and was prepared to stay for 12 hours and not have it spawn again. I had to go afk for a minute or two and when i got back it was there! After 8 hours it spawned. So don't give up you'll get it when you least expect it. :)

Out of all the spiders I've seen, I don't think I've ever seen one quite as extraordinary as this. Although I'm not sure I can really classify it as a true arachnid. For starters, it doesn't have eight legs. That, and typical spiders don't look like shiny gemstones with seven sparkling green eyes. Well, the Smolderweb is kinda sparkly, so I suppose exceptions can be made.
