I didn't count them but i'd say mine dropped off the 6-7th pass.
Was just doing archeology and killing them as they respawned. Got mine on the left of coilfang.

I'm really hoping that by commenting here, this thing drops for me.. Been farming on and off for a few months now. Starting to drive me insane. But sooner or later, it has to drop, right? :(

Edit: Up to 1369 kills (not including however many before using Bunny Hunter), and still no drop. Grrr..

Today i decided i wanted this pet - set off at 20.10ST and after around 100 kills got it at 21.24ST.
Its cute and well worth the farm but was really simple to get.
A great addition!

I used the "around the lake" farming pattern many before me suggested and farmed these buggers one and off today and yesturday. I found being a level 85 druid I killed the route before the start respawned, giving a few minutes to look something up or chitchat with guildies. Just when I was thinking about leaving to do hyjal dailies for the schorchling, the lil firefly dropped :D

I know we aren't meant to do this but, I just got this little guy-15 loots into my farm. I can't quite get my head around that, and even more, he got me my 150 achievement. Love him even more now :D

Started the farm around the edge of the lake, loads of needlers there. Was prepared for days there, half tempted to go back with a friend ^^,

I was going around getting glowcaps so I could purchase the pet from sporeggar and decided why not kill these on the way? I don't know how many kills it was but definitely less then 100 but the last one I decided to kill after 1/2 hour dropped this little guy! I was pretty ecstatic and several in my guild were a bit floored that I had it!

Whew... this one pet was my worst grind yet! 1719 kills to find it, and worst problem for a lvl 85 is the respawn rate is slow enough you can clear the entire area around the lake and still wait 2-3 minutes for the next respawns.

Gotta love unique pets though! :D

I'm with the commenter before - I know if I post about it, I'll suddenly get it ;) I know I've killed well over 3000 of these guys, and no luck. I keep telling mobs they could avoid this senseless slaughter by simply giving me their young, but no one listens to reason...

EDIT: It worked! A couple hundred more kills and it dropped! Now to go lament about the Gundrak hatchling and the fox kit? ;)

Been farming this one off and one for the last year or so. Still no Luck. I believe this companion and the sewer rat hate me. Especially the sewer rat.

A swing on LadyHryaeda's route gives you 21 bogflare weedlers to kill. Most are on the Serpent Lake side of the isles, but there is one that is tucked away on the Blades Edge side. I would pick that one up on my return flight to the beginning of the farming route.

Mine dropped today after approx. 650 kills. I am not lucky. I have been going after the Razzashi Hatchling with more than 1500 kills and no luck on that.

I recently decided to begin farming this pet, because I love fireflies so much. My significant other warned me that he spent nearly a week farming it.

Thirty minutes later? He was mine! I don't think he spoke to me for a week.

My route? left of the lake heading north, round the top and back again. That was it.

Got this little beauty today. After about 3 hours of light grind during school pauses. Now back to my favourite dark whepling grind :) (doing it for a half year now and no whelp)

A friend of mine once surprised me with this lovely pet on my Alliance Mage before I turned horde in 08. So fairly recently I decided to farm him for myself on my Horde Mage. What a great pet! You can get him along the north side of Serpent Lake in Zanga.

My druid's worg once got curious about what a firefly tastes like. So he swallowed one whole. Can you guess what happened? He barked with de-light! *guffaws* Get it!? De-LIGHT! Hahahah! *pauses* Don't look at me like that. It's not easy to think of something funny to say about a firefly, ya know.
