We're aware of a bug where Murkalot is not showing up for our EU members as "collected."  This is a result of a bug in the official EU WoW Armory.  It’s not something we can easily fix on our end.  Until it’s corrected on Blizzard’s end, there’s little we can do. :-/

If you're one of the collectors affected by this bug, bring it up on the official WoW forums for your region.  If enough people are vocal about it, Blizzard might address it that much sooner.

I've got him but the site won't update him and the EU armory is not even showing him as being available to collect for me, nor in my collection... it's not showing on hubby's account either... has anyone else on the EU got this issue please?

I have the same issue, it isn't showing for me and I can't update the warcraft pets page because it comes up with the stupid "error you don't have this pet on armory" which is silly because I do have it. Hope this gets fixed soon.

If you see this pet in the opponent's team, look out for pets that have a high damaging ability.  I fought a player that used Righteous Inspiration to switch with a Blackfuse Bombling to use Armageddon on the next turn.  This nearly wiped my entire team.  This combination can be undone by a stun on the targeted pet.  Stunning the Murkalot will only delay the ability.

The Murkalot/Blackfuse Bombling combo is incredible. Righteous Inspiration into Blackfuse, use armageddon. It ends up getting priority and deals 700+ damage (P/P breed) to each member of the enemy team. If you run an H/H explode variant, It's a near OHKO to any one non-tanky battle pet. Shame it doesn't calculate weakness or it'd be the ultimate beast annihilator. Play around priority protect moves (like anubisath deflection) and you can wreck face in PvP battling ALLL the time.

I wouldn't say nerfed at all. He still has plenty of potential with combination tactics. RB > Put in Unborn Val'kyr > Curse > Toss out whatever beatdown pet your rolling with. Loads of fun for PvE and pet catching that is :)

If you're a lazy pet leveler, like I am, and he's still not 25, here's how I'm leveling him up. From the time he was level 10 until top level, I put him in the first pet slot, and use Righteous Inspiration. He gets a round of combat, but doesn't get beaten on too much. I've been able to drag him from 10-20 without a lot of effort, and he's only died once.

Can this not be flagged for manual addition, like the Sky Lantern?

I disagree, his moveset makes it so that the next pet is guaranteed to be faster, does double damage, and you can't even hit it when it first swaps in due to Shieldstorm. I have faced the same guy, with Kovok, Murkalot, and Blackfuse Bombling. Murk sets it up, bombling comes in and does double damage to your ENTIRE team, and then Pheramones wraps up whatever is left. And in the event you had something survive, you get to face a full health Kovok AND Murk again

His battle animations are extremely adorable...I like the care they took making each one special. The details did not stop there however, they outdid themselves with his idle animations as well.  His goofy grin under the plate helmet speaks volumes, especially after he stuns himself...I laughed hard watching him!

Thanks Blizz! :)

This guy is SUPER easy to level.  Put him in first, have in Inspire someone, and bring in your level 25 ringer.

This pet is strong but beatable, and very predictable.  Magma Wave or Tidal Wave counter Shieldstorm easily.  Righteous Inspiration gives double damage but effectively takes 2 rounds to get double damage, and you can see it coming.  You know which pet will switch in so if you can't dodge/block the attack you can swap in the pet best able to take the hit.
