This wild pet can be found at The Scarab Wall and The Scarab Dais in the southwest area of Silithus. However, it only spawns during the summer months.
The guardling can spawn on either side of the wall, and all the way up to the portal entrance of either instance.

so I reckon we now have a real indicator for when summer begins. When the new Blossoming Ancient drops his flowers, and changes to his summer skin, then the Qiraji Gaurdling should start spawning.....or so it would seem.
I believe its been confirmed on Twitter from the devs that it will begin spawning on the summer solstice, which is June 21. Good luck hunting and just sit back and enjoy the ride! Remember its not the destination but the voyage that makes all the difference!
Pretty sure we're looking at June 21, which is the traditional 'start' to summer, and the beginning of the fire festival.
I don't really get why some of you are so incensed! I guess it's the whole 'generation of instant gratification' thing. If all the pets were buyable, or easy to get, people would complain about /that/. Yeah, waiting is frustrating sometimes, but it's not like I don't think I'll still be playing WoW in two and a half weeks! Getting the rare pets is all the more satisfying, I think.
My assumption is it will be June 21, coinsiding with the mid summer fire festival event. Traditional first day of summer.
So no concrete news regarding this pet yet then? I just did a little scout around Silithus battling random pets and hoping this guy would pop up as an add. no joy here. Will carry on lvling my other pets until end of June then try again. Fingers crossed eh?

personally, I do dread it'll be like minfernal and hope they are wiser than that, and kinder to those of us who adopted early, somthismis all that's left for Our title. However, I'm enjoying running old content for the new "leashes" pets and cheeses, and watchable battles has inspired our guild to have tourneys!
Honestly it makes sense for this pet to spawn on the 21rst with the start of the mid-summer festival. This would also make it spawn on the equinox.
Nothing in that much talked about Twitter post gives a specific date. It simply says June.
Not til June 21st...okay...so how many of you will be there June 1st just to be sure? :-)

Indeed no pet out today with patch 5.3 But it was on Ptr.. No clue.. this is boring blizzard!
Been battling pet ofcourse since it only join as a 2nd or 3rd in a battle and only spawn on 2 places

Noticed the location tab shows this as only a secondary, while beta had it as a primary only. Guessing that has to do with none found to put in the database?

Since there is no such thing as a summer equinox, perhaps the GM was referring to the summer solstice? This year the summer solstice will be in the 21 of june.
I was told by GM summer equinox, and this according to the way things work in the real world. Take that as you will, couldn't hurt to check an almanac.
Yeah, the GMs have all given numerous responses, a friend and myself opened a ticket on the same day, we were both answered two days later; the GM who contacted me said that they honestly weren't sure of the date but I should look around on the community forums for help, but yet the GM who contacted my friend gave him the extact date of March 21st. This is quite a bit fustrating but I am going to just park my character and wait, I believe that's the best bet. Happy hunting to you all!
Talked to a GM yesterday and she said that summer starts the same time as IRL summer. So expect this around June 21st. :P
I got the same response from GM about 2 seasons as well and that the summer started around March 20. If I remember correctly, the snowy owl didn't appear right away either-the end of October, a month after the first of the winter season.
