Can be found on the ridge (Razorthorn Rise) in between Hellfire Peninsula and Terokkar Forest alongside Razorthorn Flayers.

Can confirm that the spot for these guys is actually in Terokkar Forest. It's a fine line between that and Hellfire and they're high up in the mountain line. I dropped by there around 7:30 central time and there was a ton out.
I do strongly recommend to look first at Razorthorn Rise.
I found mine in a in between area fomr Helfire and Terrokare Forest. I was a long the mountain side of Terrokare then I went up and founf an area where there were so many flayers that you could kill. Then I looked on my mini map and saw on Flayer Youngling. It was an uncommon and I hope this info helps anyone whose having trouble! Happinng Hunting!! :D
I am not sure this will help but I was waiting for about 20 minutes and said screw it and started killing the BIGGER MOBS and 2 minutes later after killing about a dozen one of these pet spawns. (it was poor) but that will do for now, not sure if this works full time or I got lucky. Oh yea the server time was around 4:20 PM.
After months of searching for a Rare and only finding Uncommons, today at 4:50 AM (server time on Doomhammer) I finally found and caught one!
I don't know if this is of any importance, but after having fought all the non rares that were up I was a bit frustrated and killed everything in the area, as far as the actual creatures. Ravagers and Flayers alike fell to my hunter's arrows. After having done that a new Flayer Youngling popped up and it was a Rare!

went back and forth a few times and only 1 came up poor but got it.
I have been flying around for 10 minutes on the Ridge and havent seen a single one. Pointers?
I guess rares of this one are pretty common from what Ive read here. And they spawn quickly too. Just a few passes around the path and I found a few commons and then a rare.
Also, I caught it at 3am IRL, just to add to the time sensitive discussion going on.
6:53pm st on Trollbane. Found a Rare 1st chance on the RISE. Good location!
I had no luck on Razorthorn shelf, but when I checked Razorthorn Rise I found an Uncommon.
This pet took me FOREVER to find originally, NOW I have TWO rares! (my only wild caught Duplicate) he USED to be way OP, but like most things he got nerfed BAD in 5.2, still decent, but not like he was..... I named my 1st one "Bobby Flayer" and him I will level to 25, the spare Imma keep the way I found him-
start at cords. 46.7 / 7.0. I found a huge spawn there. Had to fly to it. Found one rare in the bunch, but alas I forgot to heal my pets and lost the battle
go early in the morning i found 4 just walking around .
Think I was pretty lucky, I got my rare on my 2nd battle. I had to traverse the area about 4 times tho to find a pet to battle. Captured on Razorthorn Rise (47.9, 6.3) 5:30pm server. Think he looks pretty cool, might be one of my new favorites to keep out.
Was expecting to have trouble getting this, went on my ~60 char and saw 2 green paws, was killed by flayers, when I came back there's no paws and a ~90 horde char stood there, I was pissed. But I just logged my main, flew over and caught one straight away, one trip from end to end of Razorthorn Rise and I had a rare :) About 6-7 battles
On the ptr (5.2) Flayer is changing. Reflection becomes Deflection. It only blocks spells and does no damage. Focus appears to do next to nothing and those 3 attack Triple Snaps are rare. 1 attack Triple Snaps are common. Abilities like a moth's Cocoon Strike will completely block Triple Snap...
Interestingly enough, the in-game pet journal lists this pet as a Hellfire Penninsula pet, though this website lists it as a Terokkar forest one.
Had a very lucky moment and flew to the are and just my luck there was only one spawned and it was a rare. 6:26 irish time :) best of luck
Got a common (breed 11), but I'm ok with that... took about 3 hrs of camping... got a second one, same spawn spot within 3 mins, but it was poor quality. Loc 49, 6 in Terrokar - on Razorthorn Rise.
Got a Breed 5 rare youngling a few days ago, which I wanted the most. Hopefully he is as good in pvp-battles as I've read around the internet bevore catching.
If you really want this pet in a chosen breed you really have to be patient because finding a rare is hard as opening a beer with your nails but finding a rare flayer in "your" prefered breed could get really annoying.
I prefer breed 5 for battles, because of beeing first with reflection could be nessecary for it.
