Dropped for me last night! He becomes very large with a pet biscuit. I named him Daniel Jackson! :D
I ran this dungeon today to try to pick up the 3 pets inside. Unbelievably, all 3 dropped for me in one run. I am going out and buying a lottery ticket before this luck runs out.
The tamer who finished second yesterday in the Global Pet Battle League tournament used one of these, and he was undefeated until the finals, shut out all of his opponents, including me.
That combo of super high health plus Reflection (a very powerful move) plus that stun makes for a solidly OP pet. Wish I had had an Undead to put against him.
Solo Strat for <90 DK:
Blood spec with dps gear. Don't tank in corner of stairs! Knock back was changed in 5.3 and now pops you up onto the platform; instead I now use the entrance door way.
Focus on 'nilash using mele only dps rotation but use NS whenever it's up to mitigate some of the healing. Also use macro on cooldown:
/tar Vek'lor
/cast Outbreak
/tar Vek'nilash
gives a small dps boost without loosing time on 'nilash.
Also, use AoD/Ghoul after you have vengeance maxxed.
5.2: Very good pet against Aki the Chosen, can solo first two pets.
Against the critter: Stoneskin, refresh @ 1 round left. Crush kill only if 3-4 rounds of Stoneskin for next fight. Timing is key.
Against the dragon: Deflection the lightning, then Crush 4life.
Against the aquatic: Stoneskin up, then Deflection. Crush till you die. Switch in boostpet + 3rd pet to finish off.
Solo'd 90 ret pally, easy as pie.
Yah this pet got a big nerf in 5.2 but is still a powerful pet. Battles just take a little longer now.
This pet got r@ped in my opinion after patch 5.2.. deflect my ass i want reflect
@Muggoo Nope, nope, nope... so much nope.
Comfirmed you can get this guy while attacking the melee boss as that's all I ever attack. I also get to loot both bosses after killing them.
Totally 'cheated' on this guy and bought him off the AH when someone had him up super cheap - 2400g as opposed to the usual 10k+. He is one of my favorites! Just a suggestion as an alternative to or along with farming, check the AH regularly. My husband laughed when I spent the money, but after kicking his butt in pvp battles, he wants one now. Keeping an eye on the AH hoping to lucky again. Happy hunting (or shopping)!
This little guy is awesome for battles. Between stuns, damage mitigation, and an automatic heal you don't have to waste turns on, he's easily able to take on groups of creatures two or three levels above him. As long as he's not fighting something that deals Undead-type damage, he's a serious beast, well worth leveling for a permanent place on your regular teams.
I did soloed twin emperors as Shadow Priest every week to get this pet. And i didnt find any spot. just nuked the boss with everthing i had in the end it starts to get a little more dificult because of all adds and the other boss on me and the heal they do...but i could do it every week at first try. Now i have a lot more gear, and i can kill it very easily.
Sandstorm + reflection = Incredibly powerful pet. I use the dragonkin attack even though the beast attack one does more damage it misses ALOT.
I have also soloed this on my shadow priest, obtained one first time around. I have picked up two more relatively cheap on the AH will level and make a killing. The only guy that I cannot solo in AQ is Vicidus...lack the frost damge to freeze him...
Fantastic Battle Pet. A lot of people use it for Reflection, but the combination of Stoneskin and Sandstorm can block up to 150 damage per strike. That makes you pretty much immune to most DoTs and most multi-hit attacks. Plus his Humanoid healing makes him very tanky. Highly recommended if you're trying to fight the likes of the Pandaren Spirit Tamers (can solo the wind one easily).
I've always like the way the Anubisath models looked.
So having one for a vanity pet is just brilliant.Feel like the drop rates of the pets in this raid are lower than some of those others. Killed him 3x solo, still no pet off him or viscidous and this week after killing the first boss, it bugged after i killed it and I was unable to loot the body, not sure if it was due to being mcd during fight. Also you cant rely on wowheads drop % because its factoring all the kills prior to the patch adding the pets, therefore greatly skewing the real drop rate.
I actually got this pet today I was attempting to solo it on my shadow priest and i was making a slow dent in there health and got to like about 50% and they both just died and I'm not sure how or what happened but they had the pet on them so I cant complain
basically when you get this pet level 2 go to the level 25 pets in pandaria make sure you have level 25 pets as the other 2 slots. you choose his level 2 ability, and then the first pet attacks you do damage back then switch out to your level 25;s and finish battle. xp is awarded pet gains levels fast and gives you a chance to get a battle stone to up to rare. did this several times and have got the stones :)
Got today and confirmed shadow priests can solo. Kill all defenders first, then find that corner, as was suggested. Did enough dps to overcome any heals they did, just had to make sure to AOE when they called better adds.
@Chrisski , it IS possible to solo them as a shadow priest, I did it few days ago. You need to find a spot against the wall, keep dps on the caster, and remember clean all the mobs before you engage the boss fight. You should be able to solo them by then.
