The Guardian Cub is a mini-pet version of the Winged Guardian.

This pet is available for digital download exclusively from the Blizzard Store. It may be purchased using any major credit card.

The pet item can be traded in-game as well as sold on the Auction House after a 24 hour cooldown period. However, the Guardian Cub is a single-use item, so players will need to purchase one cub for each character they wish to give the companion. Players may hold more than one Guardian Cub item in a single inventory.

I bought the pet to see if I could get a decent gold>dollar conversion rate on my server, and someone priced it down to around 14k, so I learned the pet. I love the pet itself, but I think it was an experiment by Blizzard to how we will react to buying gold, even indirectly.

I see Blizz is now condoning the exchange of real-world money for in-game gold... I love the pet, I just think making it tradeable is a bit hypocritical on their part - you can't sell gold directly, but do it via our store and it's all ok!

I bought one today (12/12/12).  I can confirm that this is now an account-wide pet; I can see and use it on other characters than the one it was "bound" to.  I can also right-click it and "Put In Cage", though we'll see if I still can after 24 hours.

I LOVE this pet. His animations are adorable and varied! Also when you click on him several times (besides the adorable baby growls) he actually lets out a rather grown-up roar!

This pet is available at the online store for 10$, 10 euros, or 8 GBP.
For your money you get only one pet for your whole account (other pet store pets give you the pet automatically on all characters). Prior to purchase you choose the character that should receive the pet.

This pet is the first item which can be legitimately bought with real money and sold on for in-game currency.

This pet purchased for $10.00 via the Blizzard Store. Unlike the other pets, its not BOA, and only character one per purchase. It unbinds in 24 hours after purchase. Sell it, mail it, trade it. I wonder if you can wrap it up for Winter Veil! Also, when you buy it, you buy it via Battle.net and select the character you want it sent to. No more promo code. That's nice because you just have to put in your CVN to make the purchase. Its going to be selling like like hotcakes tomorrow on the AH!

Originally, I wasn't a fan of this pet, but he isn't too shabby in a battle!  And at least the Guardian Cub doesn't look as goofy as the Quilen Cub.

It is that time of year-- I named this utterly adorable little guy Moonraiser, after the winged lion King of the Isle of Misfit Toys (Rudolph, anyone?)!  : >  Kind of a big name for such tiny shoulders, but I think he can handle it!  So glad he turned out to be account wide.

This is my favorite pet by far.  Roar then Reckless Strike.  Usually the fight is about about over.

I just adore this pet! I got him off the AH for around 3k and he's been flying around with his dad and I ever since! I just love his animations. I really wish more companion pets had them!

He does make a little sound when you click on him as well!

Tells me to visit dun morogh, so I go to dun morogh then it tells me to visit karazan. I have no idea where that is.

Orphaned by its titan creators? Seriously? What type of all-powerful beings would create such an adorable creature only to abandon it to be adopted by wayward adventurers? I hear they've abandoned thousands of these little cubs. It breaks my heart (and it probably break yours too). Good thing the adoption fee is only $10.00. So go on... get adopting!
