I know some of you might be abit disapointed that its the exact same model as the Hippogryph hatcling.
Please remember that buying the pet is for a awsome cause, and that the real reward is the happy feeling in your heart you get, for helping those in great need in Japan.

As someone who was born in Japan and who felt heartbroken watching all the footage from Japan, thank you for buying this! I will be getting one myself. It's OK to be a little upset that Blizzard didn't update the skin at all. I feel the same way! At least the names are different, yes?

I have to agree with Kiraneko, while yes, it's the same pixels, I for one, have always wanted the original Hyppogryph, the second I saw this, and saw the proceeds went to aid Japan, I bought it without a second thought.
Yes, they could have made a new one, but Cenarion are the faction in game that's "restoring" the world and keep nature safe, and well, the Hyppogryphs are their animal. I'd say it's fitting.

I think it's great that blizzard is giving us a chance to help those who've been through a tragedy like Japan. The pet is just a bonus for our generosity and as soon as I'm able I'm going to buy it without a second thought. I'm happy to know that I'm helping someone who needs it. Truthfully I don't care that the pet is the same as the original and I think everyone who has or will have this pet, should feel proud that they took the time to care! :3

This one I didn't even think twice to get. As soon as I saw who it was donating to I jumped for my credit card. I always have been fond of that country and I wanted to help them in some way. I am glad I was able to.

In regards to the pet itself, I'm glad I got her. I knew I'd never get that pet from the cards (hence why she's in the excluded list) so when I saw this one I was squealing with joy. I don't think the price of the original will go down. I actually think it will go up.

I don't mind that this pet is the same as the one on the trading card; it's still lovely, and it's for a good cause. :) (I may be out of line on this but: I've seen complaints from people who purchased the TCG hippogryph from a reseller and are now upset that Blizzard is selling it in the pet store. The TCG redeemables were never meant to be resale items, so any exorbitant price paid to a reseller does not entitle anyone to complain about the current $10 price tag in the official store.)

Even though it now may seem as if everyone has a Cenarion Hatchling and the Hippogryph Hatchling just isn't as unique anymore, you can now see how many people there are on WoW who are willing to help people in tragedies such as the tsunami in Japan. That is the real gift.

Well done Blizzard, Well done.
Regardless of what one thinks about the model for the Cenarion Hatchling. I purchased one without a second thought for the relief effort.

I purchased this when it first arrived to help with the tsumami relief, I would love to know how they use the money. The pet is cute and for a while I had a glitch where it leveled up. Then that went away.

You know, It isn't great that this peat looks like the hippogryph, and I know it was for a donation, but when I like to help another people, I like to do it without rewards, by the great feeling of help...
And If blizzard wants to reward people, it's ok, but why with a pet that already exist?!
Why they dont create something new?
I dont like it!

I think my volunteer work in Japan gave me an excuse to skip this pet.
I mostly skipped it because it's the same model as the Hippogryph Hatchling, a pet I already have.

It DOSN'T MATTER that this is a duplicate of the hippogrgph hatchling. It is a GOOD thing that so many people have this pet. It means that there are a lot of caring people in the world! Isn't that all that matters?

Why is this pet's name in Purple(indicating epic) when it's quality on this site is listed as blue(rare)? Just curious as to which it actually is.

I'm grateful Blizzard didn't re-skin this. This is a pet I've loved since it very first came out, and I was finally able to get it. yea, there's a lack of effort on their part, of course. But that's what Blizzard does. Either way, I got a pet I've been coveting since the beginning, and I'm really happy about it.

As of 4.2, this little guy changed. They made him have sharper beak. It's now 35% less cute in my opinion. :(
