Found one in Valguard in a corner near the fence and a tower.  As a horde I was a bit wary about going in, but I was able to swoop in and get it without being attacked no problem.  And lucky me, it was uncommon, no lame poor quality.

So for all you hordies, try Valguarde, don't be worried about the guards

For Horde, you can also get turkey from battling Fjord Worg pup as secondary/third pet to battle. I got my 3 rare turkeys doing that in Kamagua. Not exclusive to alliance areas at all.

Horde Help:

Go to Valgarde and hover above town. Target the Turkey. Keybind the "Interact with Target" Key to something on your keyboard and divebomb in hitting that button repeatedly until you land. You SHOULD enter into battle before anything throws you into combat. I just did it and got a poor and a rare turkey with a rat in third.

Although im horde i chose to go to valgarde, guards can agro but if you are careful you will be fine.

Caught my rare Turkey as a backup to a squirrel in Giant's Run. I saw several poor/common quality Turkeys attached to other pets like the Fjord Worg Pup and skunks. Good luck! :)

The best place to get him would be at Valguarde in Howling Fjord.  When I was farming for a Rare I had a level 25 as backup and two level 20-22.  I fought each spawn and by the time I had won the battle another spawn had popped up.  Just kept going until I got it.  Also, cycling through my lower level pets helped to get a few level ups too!

This little guy is outstanding.  The 'Food Coma' talent has a pretty quick CD and hits frequently enough to change the battles in your favor.

I found this guy trying to tame a  "Frord Worg Pup" looking for rare not luck  going thru each battle and i fine a  Rare Turkey on Thanksginving early morning  sever time 1:27 am est time 2:27 am on Aegwynn . I Named this little guy "Gobbler" the one I saved on thanksgiving xD enjoy
