Upon attaining revered with The Oracles faction in Sholazar Basin, players can purchase a [Mysterious Egg]. Because it's unique, only one egg can be "incubated" at a time. After three days, the egg becomes lootable as a [Cracked Egg]. Possible loot includes [Aged Yolk], a Green Proto-Drake mount, or one of four vanity pets:

As of patch 4.0.3a, the time in which an egg will hatch was reduced to three days (down from seven).

I believe I got this one my 2nd or 3rd egg. I have gotten about 30 eggs, 30 weeks. I luckily got the mount during that duration, and also got this pet, the White Tickbird Hatchling, and the Cobra Hatchling a few times each while I have been getting the eggs.

This pet is the closest to being a bird of prey that nobility would have hunted with. Great for anyone RP'ing any of a noble bloodline such as a knight or lord. Would be cool if we could have a ranking system that started as a peasant and ended with nobility, each earning a bird companion for each rank up - ending with something regal like a golden eagle that could hunt critters for food or fetch mail like a courier. Until then, my tickbird will remain at my side :)

While this may not be the cutest or prettiest pet bird you can find, you'll be hard-pressed to beat the loyalty and service it provides. This Polly doesn't want a cracker, oh no. Rather, the tickbird here loves to feast upon buggy pests. Ticks, lice, fleas (I'm looking at you feral druids), silithids... you name it. Heck, it'll even eat the maggots infesting you Forsaken folk! What more could you ask?
