Bat comes in many nice diverse breeds. Sadly its moves lets it down. Leech Life needs web to be effective, it does not even scale with buffs(like crit buff from Hawk Eye) the heal will always be the same. Nocturnal Strike needs Darkness, so then you need a Call Darkness team mate for that to be useful, and darkness even makes Leech Life further useful. Also Bats have no defensive moves and unless going with a weaker Health breed you wont survive very long. Among the weak pets for sure.
Plenty of them in Hyjal and level 21-23
I just wish i could search for them in my battle pet tab.
Found two rare bats as secondary pets at Nordassil - Nordassil is a great place to farm rares since there aren't many mobs wandering around and there are always 10+ batte pets in the little area around the lake.
Found a rare in Whispering Forest around 11:30pm server time on Steamwheedle Cartel. I have looked everywhere but there, till today, when I finally read the comments. Thanks everyone for all the great comments, I'd have a lot less pets without all the helpful information. Good luck, everyone!
I just got my rare in MH, near to the raid entrace, it was a background pet. I'm so happy ^^
Still looking for a rare. Have found many in Hyjal around Nordrassil and in the Barrow Dens as secondaries but no rares. Never found them as primaries.
You may find it like 2d pet in twilight areas Hijal summit. Works at any time of day. Like result - you may find rare bat already 24 lvl before cap.
The Whispering Forest is found west of Deathknell and south of the lake (which doesn't seem to have a name.) If you are zoomed out too far on your map, it looks like all mountains in that area but the forest is there. Also, the few bats I found were on the western side of the forest, up against the mountains. There as so many rats in this place it gets a bit frustrating. And I didn't find anything but poors and commons. Surely my blue will drop eventually!
Woot! Found my rare in Whispering Forrest in the afternoon!
Just a hint....bats are nocturnal ;)
Like others have said, they are int he far n/w corner co-ords of the area are 14.2,61.1 I found 2 in this area but Im sure there is more
Found the lvl 2 before reading your comment. I'd pretty much given up on finding another of these rare beasts - much less a Rare one - explaining why I hadn't read your comment. FWIW: yes, !YES!, it was an actual Rare!
There's a level-2 bat in the Undercity courtyard, in the middle of the Pilgrim stuff. Maybe associated with it?
Found a rare as additional mob as of recent patch at mt hyjal. lvl 23 with critters or flying
Yes these can be found in Mount Hyjal, levels ranging from 22 to 23. They only seem to be found as secondary pets in battles, but are not that rare to get.
They are indeed available in Hyjal. I have a level 20 one tamed, albeit poor quality. :(
I just found one in Mount Hyjal near Nordrassil as an add on, but I accidentally one - shot him T_T
Pretty decent pet. Heal on a short cooldown, and able to have 3 different offensive schools in its moveset (UD, beast and flying) make it pretty versatile. Has a high natural speed and Screech, meaning it should usually be going first.
As others have said, bats in Tirisfal Glades are only in the little forest by the lake in the far NW corner of the zone. You have to fly to get there. It's worth it, though.
I adore my bat - it's my go-to flying pet. Takes less damage from beasts, hits like a truck against critters and aquatics; if you've done much wild pet collecting you know how great a combo that is. Mine has been an anchor member of my team for 18 pet levels and counting.
Hard to find in eastern plaguelands, but discovered attacking other pets makes them almost always team up. Common with an infected rat first time, uncommon with an infected fawn second time. Started going after all pets in the area to find them this way. Still looking for a rare, though.
