I got this pet on the first try. I was AFK for a while and when I came back there was the roll loot for it and since I was gone for a while I needed and got a few seconds after needing it. I think the trick of getting something when you need and there's other people who may it is that you wait to need it until that person needs or you just until the timer for the rolling options almost out. Not what expected in model considering who it drops off.... but its a good pet for coordinating with outfits.  dropped on 2nd run of MC.

has anyone notice this pet flies really low to the ground... the crimson geode flies a little bit higher

Better Half and I ran MC and got all 3 pets on the 1st drop.  we are going to run it again when it unlocks and see if they all drop again.

Ran thru MC on 2 toons, got this guy twice in a row. Havent seen the others yet. Dunno if thats just incredibly lucky or if this one has a higher droprate.

Snagged him on my first run through. Getting through MC is easy, albeit a bit time consuming because of the overall length of the instance. I also managed to get the Corefire Imp as well.
