Can be found near fel fire/lava around The Hand of Gul'Dan.

Here's what I did:
-Search the web for the lowest population RP server
-Create a DK and level it to 58 to get out of the starting zone
-Go to shadowmoon and enjoy the plentyful spawns
A tip: The mobs will be 10 levels above you, so aggro them and stay as close to them as you can while running away until you lose aggro, and then run back faster than them to spamclick the Fel Flame you want to tame. This usually works, and you will be able to lure mobs away. :) GL
Here is a tip some of them spawn on top of the hand of gul somtimes they dont show unless you fly to the top ive found 3 on top of the mountain.
These guys pack a punch in pvp combat , Scorched earth conflag and flame breath its all over folks, best thing to do imho play with an Aquatic knowing that most ppl ive battled have this pet , they must look in horror as snarly kicks the crap out of there main attraction.
These fellows aren't out en masse. I had to come back a few times with hours in between and finally caught a group of about five scattered in the fel pools on the mountain.
All the green Fel pools in Shadowmoon Valley can spawn these. I got my first uncommon in the first green pool coming into the valley. My other uncommon and rare came from pools way over on the other side. Keep moving to check all these locations and catch them as they spawn there.
I've gotten more than one rare of these, and a good thing to remember is all rares are not created equal. Having levelled two of them to 25, they ended up with dramatically different stats. Now, I find myself upgrading blues I had previously thought were pretty kick butt.

Got mine around The Deadforge. It was the 4th i saw (first battle I lost; the other two were in the middle of the green lava and not possible to battle against), and luckily it was a rare.

I took my common and went home. lol Another person was farming and they weren't spawning fast enough to keep us both going. Plus the lava and the tracking footprint are both the same green. This occasionally caused me to lose a pet fight to my competition. Hot pink might have been a better color for SMV. ;)
I fought about 20+ before I got my rare, they are very easy to spot around SMV, just look for the lava pools. :) I was online after 11pm PST and they were EVERYWHERE!

Found him at the westernmost part of the big green area in the middle of the SMV map. My character was standing just south-east of the words "The Deathforge" as it appears on the SMV map.
Don't know how rare he is suppose to be. I came across him when I doing the SMV daily at peak time on a high traffic CRZ. Thought he looked cool, then my mod told me he was blue quality H/P so I caught him at like 12% health. Pretty high health to be caught for a blue, but maybe that's just imo.

A little while after sever restart and cross relam restart a ton of fel flames everywhere in the pools I got a uncommon and poor. I don't know why back in the past they didn't spawn and now they are. Mabey a while after CRR and SR they do spawn? Happy hunting!
wow mega lucky on this one - I flew up from Wildhammer Stronghold (came from netherstorm so afk and made a cuppa on the flightpath lol).
I battled one- poor quality so killed it, then flew around in a circle, none to be seen, checked here & saw people saying about taking a while to get it. Imagining it ending up like the Minfernal (ugh) I flew up to the top of the hand of guldan, found a paw-battled it and it was a rare! :D
So definitely take the time to go up to the top!

I just logged in and there were many across the whole zone. Ibattled around 12 until i found a rare, but while looking for others, i found ~ 20 more (that i left there ofc). Not like wowhead implies only in the middle, they are everywhere in the zone. basicly everywhere, where is some fellava (even the small flows), sometimes 4 in a small pool.
And this toon never did the 'Cypher of Damnation' .
Anyone notice a Breed 5 of this guy floating around? Appeared to have 289 attack, but had a speed of 332.
Used a stone on the common that I had and it was totally worth it. This guy lays waste to our opponents! Also, he looks cool by my side. ;)
Found an uncommon and a bunch of common and poor. I flew around for about 2 hours not seeing one but as soon as I started the quest chain I stated seeing them.
Found mine North of Gul'dan. Didn't do any quests for them to show up, was a poor quality but have one :D

Just got mine this evening after flying past at least a dozen campers. Its poor quality but right now I'm happy to have one at all. He was just standing by the bridge waiting for me! LOL! Coordinates: 62.55 40.39. It was about 11:15 pm realm time. Good luck - they're out there!
