Ysera at 12:56 am, Sunday morning. He spawned on the right side of the hill where the entrance to Onyxia's cave is. Immediately after another spawned in front. Took about 40 minutes to find the 1st one with about 6 other ppl roaming around the area
Perhaps I just got really lucky. I had not seen any of these in months, and then today they were everywhere. The first 4 I battled were uncommon, and the seventh one was a rare (P/P)! Must have been my lucky day (also got my Minfernal today, first was I've seen and it was uncommon).
I decided after i had upgraded my poor to uncommon quality that i had wanted a rare so i decided to go back and start farming again and about 10 min into killing random spawns around the area waiting for one to spawn one of the rare rune stones popped up and i was sooo happy i could finnaly upgrade my onyxian whelping and i wouldnt have to sit there and wait 3 hrs for a rare to spawn.
At about 750 am EDT [550 Zangarmarsh time] got a rare! This was my second trip here to try to get one. Last trip I got a green after hours of killing/pet battling everything around the instance and the cave behind it with the help of my sister, who also got a Spawn. This trip I spent 2 hours, one round of killing dragonkin and the rest of the time pet battling. Don't give up! Pet battling your way around works! Thanks, posters! Found at 51.9 70.9
Spawn of Onyxia can be found near Onyxia's Lair. I found mine at 48,75. It was a common. Flew in and just started killing off battle pets in the area and after about 10 minutes one spawned. Also got my Littlest Pet Shop Achievement on this guy :)
Found an uncommon near the cave entrance. It was the only one I had seen since capturing a poor a few months ago. Oddly, there were lots of other players around...I guess none were looking for the spawn. Yesterday around 2pm ST. Not even sure if I want to level this guy up since the moves are exactly the same as the Onyxian Whelpling 5th Anniversary pet - already leveled that one to 25.
Got my Spawn of Onyxia right in front of the entrance to Onyxia's Lair at 2pm server time on Kil'jaeden. No competition. Rare, first time. Don't know if it was luck or what, but I'm glad to have the lil guy.
Spent about an hour flying around waiting for one to spawn after having to white flag a fight with a green. Twenty mins after I started caught a poor - instead of the rare toad that was teamed with it. Flew around some more to try for another catch and killed whelpings while I waited. Got a rare Dark Whelping at 54.66 72.77 while waiting. Also picked up a rare black rat in the process of battlle leveing while waiting.
I guess it has calmed down since MoP came out. I was just passing by yesterday and they were all over with no competition for them at all.
Found 2 on my server early in the morning, when MoP first came they were heavy camped now its not too bad. First was uncomming (snagged it) and second was poor
I did what this forum recommended, and at about 3:20am central (2:20am ST) I got an uncommon spawn. Since I had done some move swapping, I accidentally killed the uncommon one. About ten minutes of critter killing, battle critters and normal critters, I found another one (that was rare) and caught it.
Decided to hit this place on a PVE server since it seems to be a fun place for PVPrs to jump people. Flew around the entrance/hill about 20 times, killing all the other pet spawns. Got a RARE.... my heart skipped a beat.
Got super lucky, bout 4am went looking for this little bugger, even at 4am was about 2-3 high level hunters killing everything in sight...i did 2 or 3 circles around the mountain and was about to give up and made one more pass and there he was, a uncommon that poped up on the right side....i'll not be heading back looking for a rare, i'll use a stone on this one.
killed all the battle pets around like suggested and had 2 spawn. first was uncommon...screwed up and killed it...second was rare...didnt make the same mistake twice.
Finally got a dragonkin stone and upgraded my uncommon. This was the first stone I've gotten so far and fitting to upgrade my first pet to 25.
Run in a circle around the Wyrmbog. Kill/Battle any green paws you see in the area to force a spawn of SoO. Just keep running the circuit and be patient. Worked for me this morning. (10:15am server time)
Finally! 16:56 eu server Vek'nilash, I found and caught my first Spawn of Onyxia! It was common but I dont care. I've camped the area for days waiting to get one and hadnt seen any sightings, so glad I've got this now. My heart did little somersaults when I saw the green paw!!
Half an hour after, 2 more spawned, one grey one green, so i have a green one too :)
It took over 15 battles for me to get the rare. On the plus side, every secondary in the battle was a rare.
Did a bit of killing other battle pets and this guy popped up on my first spawn. Stoked to say the least. :D

I was leveling my battle pets in dustwallow marsh, and then I saw this battle pet. I thought it would be cool to have, so i caught it and it was rare on the first try, still using it right now. :D
