Dominates the daily garrison mission with Samm, Jahan, and Archimedes.
A must-have because of its high damage output and dominance over flying pets. With Mana Surge/Arcane Storm, you can pump an average of 1947 damage over 3 rounds. However, Mana Surge is not flexible, so it should be used to finish off targets in between survival CD. If your pet is slow, use Tail Sweep/Sear Magic/Wild Magic for survival against dots and condition-met abilities (i.e. Takedown).
These spawn ALL around on the island. took 11 kills to get a rare. In those 11 I found 1 uncommon, 1 rare, 2 common, and 7 poor.
This pet is an awesome hard hitter! One word of caution however is going up against an Anubisath Idol. For one, he will change the weather away from Arcane Storm and another... he will murder you with crush. Having a Arcane Eye added to the mix can mitigate and eventually remove the Idol from play. I really enjoy playing this pet... just 2 buttons and sit back and watch the other team scramble.
Special note... due to Arcane Winds he can't be interupted or stunned. :)
Awesome, awesome pet and one of my favorites by far! I didn't realize how powerful this little guy was until I finally tried him out as a serious pet team member. Arcane Storm followed by Mana Surge are such a deadly duo! If that isn't quite enough, Tail Swipe will put the nails into the coffin. One of the most powerful and consistent pets out there. All that, wrapped up in an adorable blue package of cuteness...I know it's going to be a great takedown when Blueberry enters the arena! :)
This is a must have pet for everyone. Its' combo of Arcane Storm and then Mana Surge is incredible. I have three different breeds. They can kill any flyer, and during the garrison mission quest; one Nexus can easily solo that fight. I bring two Nexus to the daily fights in Spires of Arak and Talador. For my third pet, I usually bring in a lower level critter pet in Talador, just to get the extra experience points. Flyers dont do well against critters.
The P/P Nexus Whelpling is absolutely destructive in PvP. If your enemy doesn't have a Mechanical Pet, even after Mana Surge's damage was toned down, the Nexus Whelpling will put out an insane amount of pressure and (More often than not) kill something.
I get prepared to feel the hurt whenever I see this pet in an enemy team, and it's not too uncommon to see some people running three of these at once.
Nexus Whelpling is the best pet to use against Jeremy Feasel.
Using Tail Sweep is the best to defeat the first pet and Arcane Storm is essential to combat the monkey.
I was having trouble finding spawns. Every time I went to Coldarra I could find one, maybe two...but after the server reset there were about ten flying around. Had no problems finding a rare then!
this guy is a bit gimmickish. a one trick pony that does arcane storm and mana surge. i wish he was more flexible.
Get the p/p breed. Probably one of the biggest hitters. Pair him up with another pet that has mana surge (arcane eye) you are sure to burn through a few pets quickly.
Found a rare in the northwest section, near the tower, after three days of checking the cauldara at random times and only find poor or commons. The best time to go seems to be late morning - 10am to noon, PST. I'm not sure if there are more spawns or less campers, but i was finding about 5 spawns per circuit during that time. Also - watch out for gankers.
Pet battlers will want the 4,14 breed with the lowest speed, to take advantage of the Tail Sweep ability. It does extra damage only if your pet is the slowest.
I planned on hunting for a bit to get one but nope went right over and there one was ":) poor but better then not getting one at all. Happy Hunting everyone :)
if you find one just grab it regardless of color lol i was greedy and found a green/uncommon right away and decided to risk leaving to find out there are no more spawns :(
went out today did a lap flying and nothing. decided to land and kill mobs while i waited I went on a mass murder spree and got 1 to spawn lucky me it was a rare
:D happy hunting :D
Got an uncommon on my first try at 1115pm server near the shield
Found 3 just to the west of The Nexus. Captured one and left the others 12:10pm Saurfang server time.
The P/P breed is my favorite.
I usually run with Tail Sweep, Mana Surge, and Arcane Storm.
My favorite line in here is by Faerdin:
"I get prepared to feel the hurt whenever I see this pet in an enemy team."
I use it as a backline to level my frontline pets.
It servers wonders as the backline to the Taralune battle, and has been known to solo three of the garrison daily's. The Beakinator ; Jahan, Samm, and Archimedes ; and Manos, Hanos, and Fatos.
For the Daily Pet Battle with Jahan, Samm, and Archimedes, I noticed that the opponents first round was always Arcane Storm.
So, for you Nexus Whelpling, use Wild Magic to put another magic attack augment into play. Then just Mana Surge your way through all three, or play clean up with the last survivor if you are unlucky. For me, it killed all three so fast, I thought I had found a bug.
