Nexus Whelpling is the best pet to use against Jeremy Feasel.
Using Tail Sweep is the best to defeat the first pet and Arcane Storm is essential to combat the monkey.
No dumb questions just uninformed...look under Guides/Guide to Pet Breeds tells all you ask
Sorry guys but i have a dumb ? What does P/P breed mean?
Thanks Morgren52 That helps alot.
Finally upgraded mine to a rare. Found it right before logging for the night. This little girl has one of the more intersting looks then the other drakes. The rune on her leg and the helmet making her stand out.
I was having trouble finding spawns. Every time I went to Coldarra I could find one, maybe two...but after the server reset there were about ten flying around. Had no problems finding a rare then!
It does pack a punch with mana surge, can kill all three wild pets, but when it does, I've noticed I don't get any XP for it. Anyone else notice that?
this guy is a bit gimmickish. a one trick pony that does arcane storm and mana surge. i wish he was more flexible.
Get the p/p breed. Probably one of the biggest hitters. Pair him up with another pet that has mana surge (arcane eye) you are sure to burn through a few pets quickly.
Found a rare in the northwest section, near the tower, after three days of checking the cauldara at random times and only find poor or commons. The best time to go seems to be late morning - 10am to noon, PST. I'm not sure if there are more spawns or less campers, but i was finding about 5 spawns per circuit during that time. Also - watch out for gankers.
Went to spawn area and nothing was around, so I killed a Nexus Watcher and a common one showed up, caught it, then proceeded to kill all dragonkin and everything in sight and couldn't get anymore to spawn, or any other type of pet for that matter :(
update: Went back at 2:30am Uldum time the day after and had no trouble finding them at all. Found a rare 8,18 in my 3rd battle.
I got this pet as a rare on my 3rd battle, the sadistic part was that another rare showed up last.. but of course you can only catch one ;) guess I got lucky!
Just went to capture the Nexus Whelping while I was questing in the area. Founds lots of poor and common versions, but after about 20 I got my rare. Perhaps I was just lucky, but I found this to be one of the easier grinds for a pet.
I /love/ this little guy. I hadn't paid much attention to him until I starte seriously leveling some pets, and used him at level 22 in the Uldum pet battle daily. WOW. He rocked it, and I was almost sad when he hit 25 and it was too easy!
Flew around Northrend for a couple frustrating hours looking for a Val'kyr, and jetted over to the Coldarra to see if I could finally find one of these spawned. Not only were there a bunch, the first I engaged was a rare and came with a rare tolai hare and a rare borean penguin, neither of which I have in blue! It was so hard to kill them, but I think this little guy was worth it. Lvl 19 P/P, and I went over to the Vale of Eternal Blossoms and promptly killed a lvl 25 frog. Caught 9:25pm Draenor
Got an uncommon, however currently farming a rare. I have found these spawn quicker if you kill the big nexus watchers. Will update if I get a rare :)
Anyone else notice that some opponent's pets' root/stun will still work even during Arcane Storm? Is this a bug or is it a chance to prevent (which it doesn't say). For ex. a Fosslized Hatchling's Bone Prison was able to work even tho my Arcane Storm was up with 3 rounds to go.
A must-have because of its high damage output and dominance over flying pets. With Mana Surge/Arcane Storm, you can pump an average of 1947 damage over 3 rounds. However, Mana Surge is not flexible, so it should be used to finish off targets in between survival CD. If your pet is slow, use Tail Sweep/Sear Magic/Wild Magic for survival against dots and condition-met abilities (i.e. Takedown).
I got lucky. Happened to be in the area to run Oculus and first one was a rare. I leveled it to 25 and it is my main battle pet. Not too much that it isn't good against. Not a lot of life even as a rare but can take hits well and the arcane shot is insane. I've one hit killed 25s. By far my favorite for pet battles.
Went by Coldarra about a week ago and couldn't find any spawns. Went back today. Spotted one, turned out to be Poor, and I accidently two-shot it. The next one I found was a Rare :) I do think its strange that this pet isn't counted as part of the Northrend Safari acheivement.
5 am server time there were about 10-15 of them up. Most common/poor, one uncommon, and one rare. All of them were scattered loosely around area where the snow is, I was the only one there.
