This wild pet can be found on the outer areas around Twilight Grove in Duskwood. It only spawns at night.
Additionally, it can be found as a secondary opponent when challenging another wild pet in the area.

Widow spiderlings have plenty of time to explore Duskwood once they take care of their pesky family commitments.
I spent 3 nights looking for my rare Widow Spiderling, and I can confirm the following:
- they spawn at exactly 8:00pm server time. If you are in the right spot, you'll see a bunch of them appear instantly. I waited in the area east of Raven Hill, north of the road, saw 8 to 10 of them appear at same time.
- some will spawn inside trees. Simply target them with "/target Widow", and then use your 'interact with target' key bind. It worked every time for me.
It is possible to encounter Widow Spiderlings during the day. They ocassionally appear as additional pets when battling other Duskwood spawns, most notably those of the Dusk Spiderling.
Widow spiders are very beautiful creatures in "real life" and the Warcraft version is no exception. If you are a spider lover, make your way over to Duskwood and grab yourself one of these deadly ladies. You won't be disappointed! Happy hunting.
Found mine at 12:23pm server time. It jointed a dusk spiderling in a battle.

I just battled and caught a green Widow Spiderling at 1:54pm local and server time in Duskwood. I'm on Ysera. I just wanted to report that since the description says that this is an evening only pet. I had previously caught and/or battled gray ones but those happened between 8pm and 10pm local and server time.
edit: It was the second behind a Dusk Spiderling. The gray ones were behind Dusks as well.
The Widow Spiderling is an incredibly powerful and IMO underrated battle pet. At 25 I can easily solo the random Pandaria trio teams. Brittle Webbing, Poison Spit, and Leech Life (double heal with Brittle Webbing) make this spider very self-sustaining, with impressive damage going out each round.
0749 Draenor server Eu - Found an Uncommon Widow Spiderling as a 2nd to a Dusk Spiderling.
Edit: And right after that another, but Common, as a 2nd to another Dusk Spiderling.
Found my rare tonight around 11:15pm server time, after around 20 minutes or so of battling. Took a while of me flying around it's marker on my minimap before I figured out that it was spawned inside a tree lol :) Had to /target it. Didn't see any as secondaries, but I think I've seen them as secondaries before.
I spent days trying to upgrade to a rare version of this guy by farming the secondary spawn versions during the day. Came at "night" (11pm server for me) and Brightwood Grove have over 15 primary spawns with the secondary being a Widow Spiderling as well.
After searching a few hours last night and not finding a single one I decided to follow the comments today and look during the day instead. 10:23am (PST, 1:23pm Server Time) 3rd pet I battled. Secondary to the Dusk spiderling.
It appears these can spawn as an add with anything (or just about anything) in the zone at any time of day. I saw lots of them as adds to Small Frogs, Skunks, Dusk Spiderlings, Rabbits, etc, between the in-game hours of 11am-6pm. That is how I got my two rares.
I never saw them spawn on their own, but perhaps THAT is what requires nightfall.
I also found this as a second (to a Dusk Spiderling) east of Raven Hill, after about 20 pet battles, at about 6:30pm server on Rexxar. I had done rounds over the area north of the road for several days and never saw this one pop up.
Found mine at 0900 server time, so I'm not so sure about that "Night time" designation. It was teamed up behind a Black Rat at 78, 33.
got a rare first capture, in brightwood grove....saw 3 more rares looking for a rare dusk spiderling to.
I don't think this pet is just found at night. At 12pm server time, I decided to go into Duskwood and get a hold of the pets I was still missing. I was flying overhead and spotted a bunch of these lil guys. I tamed the first one I saw thinking I may have found a fluke. To my happiness he was a rare. I don't know if server matience had anything to do with this, but from some of the other comments, I am thinking his spawn times may have changed.
Found one of these as a secondary pet to Dusk Spiderling at 5:30pm server time. It took a while to find and it was rare.
Found 3 different ones as secondary pets to a mouse, and 2 dusk spiderlings. It was 4pm server. Not night time. All 3 finds were poors and common. Maybe the late night ones will have a rare for me.
Just caught as a secondary pet at 12 noon server time...They have a broad definition of "night"
Just caught a rare one. its 5:38pm server. He was a secondary pet.
