This battle pet is underestimated. Its poison attack is a real killer and it helped me in several hard battle pet fights, such against the pets in the Beasts Of Fable quest. I recommend you to lvl a rare snake to 25!

Snakes appear frequently as secondaries with Water Wavelings (level ~22-23) in Zul'Drak. Since the Water Wavelings spawn in huge numbers, this is a good place to farm them.

It appears that you can catch a version that can appear as any of the colors when you summon it. I only noticed that mine changes colors just today. I don't know how you figure it out when you're trying to catch them though... probably a pure luck type of thing.

I found all 4 color variations of this snake in Westfall. The light brown with dark brown stripes snake, the lime green snake, the black snake and the red snake. Too bad you can't collect all 4.................................................
