Found out something this evening I was farming the widow spiderling and then they disappeared and suddenly duskwood was full of the Rat Snakes, so i am taking it that they spawn after the widow spiderling go.

Zone was empty but decided to try to get a rare widow/dusk spiderling and see if that would trigger a spawn. Got a rare rat snake as a second with a dusk spider at about 1am server.

I found some in the "Tranquil garden cemetery" and in "Rolands Doom".

I found two after about 10 minutes searching, both at Yorgen Farmstead. Luckily, the second was a rare. 

Found at 11.45 am server at 49.75

Wow, never get lucky like this, but got a rare first one I found at the Ogre Mound.  Only one I could see there.

Found one right next to the Inn in Darkshire.

Found several spawns of them in the Vul'gol Ogre Mound of Duskwood.

 

Had trouble finding them elswhere while flying about so I tried to trigger it as a secondary combatant, though I saw none in seven battles or so.
