A plush version of this pet is available for purchase from the Blizzard Store. Players who purchase the plush will receive a code for the in-game pet. This code may be redeemed on a single WoW account. Thus, players who have more than one WoW account bound to their Battle.net accounts must choose which account will receive this pet.

Note: The pet codes are region-specific, so be sure to order for your region. (Plushes ordered from the US store cannot be redeemed on EU servers.)

The EU Blizzard store no longer sells this plush toy. It's unknown if it will be available again in the future.

Let me tell you about the Wind Rider Cub. This cub is superior to all other cubs, and potentially all other pets. Why is this? Look no further than his feet! Yes, that is right, the Wind Rider Cup has paw pads. Adorable little paw pads under each of his paws. No other pet can match this. No other pet can even hope to try. The Wind Rider Cub is at a level which all pets wish to obtain, but never will, because they lack those glorious paw pads.

It's fun how they not only will swap between walking and flying, depending on what you're doing. but the little flappers will keep up with you on an epic mount. I was pretty darn impressed! Even the vocalizations they make are unique to the windrider.

Now I just need a Windrider mount to accessorize with him!

The plushies were about the size I expected, having bought game related plushies for the army of nieces and nephews! All in all, a fun collectible at a good price!

Both the Wind Rider and the Gryphon will walk behind you, if you get too far ahead they will switch to flight. When you stop for a few seconds they return to the ground. They also seem to fly when you mount and walk when you dismount.

If there is any pet that is worth the money its this one.

This is the cutest pet in the game right now easily.

I find it funny how people have a problem that it comes with a plush toy.

Oh noes I can't buy a plush toy my masculinity might be in jeopardy!!!!!!

My favorite companion and stuffed animal by far! i opened the lil horde bag he came and couldn't resist saying, "aww!" I LOVE HIM! soo soft too. and the companion flying by your side is just great. come on blizzard, i want more plushie pets!

i have a 2 year old, so i had a "valid" reason for buying the plushy/vanity pet. my son adores the stuffed animal, and we play games with it (flying, growling, and the improv snorting its way through a basket of laundry). i adore the in-game pet and his growls, and personally don't have a problem with its size. although i am faithfully alliance, the details of the windrider are much cuter/cuddlier than the gryphon, imo; the gryphon has an over-sized head with a mean face on both plush/in-game.

I was flying in Icecrown with mine out as I was mining....Everytime I dove for the mineral vein I could see the cub diving behind me. It took awhile to get used to, I kept thinking someone was trying to beat me to the vein. lol

Tiny cuteness! The Wind Rider, and I'm sure Gryphon as well, will follow you on your flying mount! They will switch between flying and ground running animations depending on what you're doing.

Love the look of this guy, but really wish there was some way to buy only the in-game pet. I have literally zero use for a stuffed toy animal, and can't really justify £22 just for the digital version.  :(

The Wind Rider Cub was my main pet in my party for most of the time I've been collecting, and either the first or second pet of mine to reach 25.  I love it so much because how cute, in my opinion, it is, and its abilities are pretty good.  Lift off is the only ability I'm not fond of using even against water pets because of its inaccuracy.

This pet is a novelty for me as well because I mostly play alliance - and this is the best thing about this pet and its gryphon counterpart. I was in a Lich King fight once when I pulled it out. After a few mins of proudly parading my little cub around I heard on vent: 'why do you have a horde pet?' and other such questions from equally perplexed people. I personally prefer this one over the gryphon.

I just the strangest thing happen on one of my alts.

I was leveling in Feralas with my Wind Rider Cub out. As I dismount to fight a mob, it suddenly flies off into the distance. It just kept going until it flew far enough to despawn itself. It wasn't laggy or anything, and the Wind Rider Cub circled upwards like a taxi Wind Rider does. It seemed to be flying towards Thousand Needles...

SO cute!  My Orc has him out all the time, named him Rowdy.  As a bonus had an adorable plushie to give to my little niece this year!  Gotta indoctrinate them early or they grow up to be Alliance. ;)

During any epic battle, I like to summon a random companion for luck. But the Wind Rider Cub brought the opposite. The "incident" happened when I participated in a faction-wide raid. As we rode into Orgrimmar, I shouted, "For the Alliance!" and out popped my Wind Rider Cub. Voice chat went dead. Everyone froze. Dozens of dwarves, humans, and night elves stared at me with mouths agape. Next thing I know, I'm kicked from the raid. I guess they were just jealous that they didn't have this cutey.
