Horned Lizard

Follow Gwenolyns post in the Cradle of ancients, Uldum on a toon that has not completed the zone and you will save a lot of time rare farming. I also killed off any sets of 3 critters/battle pets that were not the horned lizard to promote more spawns and had 6 sets up to circle around. Being a phased area you also find noone else around as most cannot see pets in this area.

Found 3 in Lost City of Tol'vir (non-instance zone) around 61,69.

Found some at the obelisk of the sun (just above the north entrance to the chamber of sun) and south of the obelisk of stars.

On a character that has done all of Uldum, very north west corner of the Oasis of Vir'sar. It was by itself. The primary pet, rare quality and together with a rare emerald boa (2nd) and dung beetle (3rd). The first one i came across when flying in from Ahn'qiraj. 

Cradle of the Ancients on a toon that has not done the quest there is the way to go as mentioned, as is, battling/killing off 2 of the 3 in a group of Horned Lizards.  I did notice however that most the lizards were of diff qualities and not the same as mentioned.  While waiting for these guys to respawn, I battled the group of 3 that is on the cliff above the world boss rare, and got my rare pet there.

Yep, If you have completed all quest in Uldum, you see them from the air around Cradle of Ancients, but when you land, they disappaer, until you leave area again. But did find a few in Lost City of Tol'var.

can confirm cradle of the ancients (Uldum)is the place for these critters, level 23 and 24. They walk around in groups of three  two white and one red, greens aplenty didnt see a blue though.

Also got 3 rares in a row at 71,43 (on top of the "S" of Halls of Origination).  Good luck, pet hunters!

Update: Another set of 3 spawns (with 2 rares and 1 uncommon) at 64,27 at Obelisk of the Stars.

Can confirm that you can pick this up in the Cradle of the Ancients.  Weather not an issue nor is how many quests completed (finished all the quests here, no idea on if you have done no quests here at all).  

Found tons of them, roaming around in packs of 3 it seems as that is all I saw.  Happy hunting.

Everyone on this website and wowhead say the Horned Lizard is in uldum but the in game pet journal says its in the Badlands and Silithus. I was wondering if anyone has seen any in the Badlands or Silithus or if the in game pet journal is wrong. Please help.

If you have a character that hasn't completed Uldum, I recommend taking that character because I had one that had completed Uldum and had phasing issues. Had another character that had only done 46 of the quests and they could engage the ones that were phased out on my other character.

after many kills (grey/ commons)...i got 3 rares in a row, tamed two. at the obelisk. have fun. also got uncommon tol vir beetle and a rare dung beetle.

Found lots of them at 41, 68 at Cradel of the Ancients. Got a green on first go. It was 10.45pm realm time :) Yay!

Found three by a wall in obelisk of the stars, left two for the next person.

I feel very lucky that I approached a dung beetle in the left footsteppes of the Obelisk of the Sun in Uldum, and there it was... RARE (dung beetle was also rare, but I had to pick one).  This was 12:15am server.

wow!  after I wrote the above comment I alt+tabbed and the same combo spawned.  This time I got to chose the Dung Beetle :-)

Not only did I find some in The Lost City (non-instance) zone, inside the city walls, but all 3 that I did challenge were poor quality; and yet each one had a rare sidewinder as backup.  *results may vary, but upgrade for me + catch*

Found three of them at the Obelisk of the sun. One of them was uncommon and the others were poor.

If you keep killing the regular (non battle) criters you will force the lizards to spawn. there are few spots in Lost City of Tol'vir where you can find 3 same non battle criters. Kill those and wait for the cuty to spawn. GL.
