This pet is a reward for a quest found within the new Zul'Gurub quest chain in Patch 4.1. Players can pick up a breadcrumb quest in Stormwind or Orgrimmar (from the warboard) which will lead them to Stranglethorn Vale. After completing the quest chain up to Bury Me With Me Boots, players will unlock the quest to receive the cub.

You need to be lvl 85. You pick up the chain in Stormwind Harbor (Alliance). Breadcrumb on the Heros Call board.

You get the pet early in the chain.

You need to finish the chain to prevent STV from being phased. The last quest puts you in Booty Bay. You have to be dismounted to talk to the person Bwemba has been looking for. This is necessary to stop the phasing of STV.

Ya know, there really is no indication that Mauti was this little guy's mother... Besides being the troll lady's panther, Mauti is specifically referred to as male by NPCs. Now I feel sorta bad for the panther cub's REAL mommy...

This was the beast pet I chose to start Pet Battling with. Awesome against critters and as much of the wild pets are critters he is a good choice.

It's a very easy quest chain. I picked it up in Stormwind Harbor. There are some trolls is boats. Pick up their quest. After talking to them, they will send you to Fort Livingston, etc. Hope that helps!

I really recommend going for this pet. It's set along a good quest chain, so if you like keeping up with the lore go do this STV chain. It fits right along with the current patch and lets be honest, he's adorable! When you eventually find him you just HAVE to take him along with you =D

The quest chain leading up to getting this guy is fun and not too long. And I was able to cheat a little--someone else killed Mauti, and then when I went up to the corpse, Bwemba inspected it automatically, completing the quest and unlocking the next two, which give you this guy. Plus, I'm guilt-free because technically I never killed his mom. ;D

I think this one will become one of my favorites. He's adorable! Fairly easy quest chain too, I didn't expect to get a pet out of the deal, and this was totally worth it.

Took me at most 45 minutes to get my Panther Cub... very easy chain! Very nice to have a true night elf pet!

Is this little guy no longer available? I have it on this toon but wanted it on an alt, too. I'm not able to talk to the emmissary in SW Harbor. Was this a time limited quest chain? Anyone know?

UPDATE: Ok, I just discoverd you HAVE to be lvl 85 to be eligible. My other toon isn't yet. Hopefully, it will still be available when she is. She REALLY NEEDS this little baby boy.
