Notes

This pet drops from fox creatures in the new PVP area, Tol Barad Peninsula. There is a total of 16 Baradin Foxes found in the area.

Unlike Wintergrasp, players cannot fly directly into the zone and must either queue for a Tol Barad battle or use a portal located in Stormwind or Orgrimmar. Players must be level 85 to use the portal to teleport directly to the zone.

Although the zone is somewhat separate from the actual PVP zone (Tol Barad), players may still encounter some PVP activity while farming for this pet. Players on non-PVP servers will not be flagged for PVP while on the peninsula.

I spent the better part of yesterday farming the foxes with no success. Then I realized that the little fox might not want to go with me if it had just seen me heartlessly murder its entire extended family. So I started /hug-ing the foxes before I killed them. Still nothing.

This pet is so cute! Got mine less than 30 minutes after reading about it here. The foxes respawn quickly, and you can set up a route along the road to hit most of them. By the time I finished one circuit, they had all respawned. I found the best route was starting at Hellscream's Grasp, along the edge of the Restless Front nearest the water, across the bridge to the northern edge of the Darkwood, across to the southern edge of the Baradin Base Camp, and back to Hellscream's Grasp. Seems like they Emerald Whelpling'd this one. Only 16 foxes and a likely 0.1% drop rate. I know I'm a hard core collector because this actually excites me... Bring it on Bliz... bring it on.

Passed 10k foxes killed, still nothing. FU Blizzard.

7/26/11 - Watching Netflix on my 2nd screen in my zen foxing killing state of peace and contentment when it happened. I just stopped and stared, it was such a surprise. Then the adrenaline hit, my chest tightened, and my heart started speeding up.

I moused over to my movie on the right screen and paused it.
Then I looted that little blue icon with trepidation, somehow not actually believing it was real.

I'm so happee I discovered this pet! I got it before it was mentioned on here and in my guild I've caused a bit of a farming frenzy for it! I'd also like to add one more idle animation; It'll occasionally sniff around on the ground where it's standing.

This pet is the first pet I grinded for... and I think I must have killed many many thousands of Foxes.

If you reach the point where you've killed SO many foxes you feel that warcrafpets must be pulling your leg and the pet can't really exist, you're almost halfway there.

I made killing these foxes part of my routine of doing dailies on the island... by the time the kit finally dropped for me, I was shocked to see it because I'd half forgotten why I'd got into the habit of killing foxes in the first place.

Have to agree that this is definitely a strong contender for "Cutest Pet". It's quite small but that adds to the cuteness. Sniffs, scratches and dances. Lost count of the number of foxes killed but did a massive wooots when it dropped - came as nice a surprise. Good luck if you're still farming, it's worth it.

While hunting for this pet I found that if you skipped the fox in the spider area you could go faster (less mobs to kill to get to your foxes) Fox Kit dropped after ~415 kills. DOES bring up a [are you sure you want to learn this item] window so be careful of any pvpers wanting to fight you. Learn it fast incase you can't get back in time. Also this fox is the size of the cat pets, very cute!

I spent hours trying to get this pet...turned in about 1000 serrated fangs! and it finally dropped today! Here is the macro I used to target and icon the foxes:

Six hours, no drop. My suggestion:if you want this one, get it now, before you have infinitely more level 85s to contend with.

Edit: Hour nine, Fox Kit dropped. Happily, with all the time spent in this zone, I doubled up and got the Rustberg Gull too.

About the size of the Mechanical Squirrel.

This is the roughest pet grind! I've put in at least 10 solid hours of farming so far. The drop rate is most definitely under 1%. If you got it quickly, consider yourself extremely lucky! This is a good farm to do if you're a skinner/miner. I've gotten dozens of stacks of ore in the process of killing foxes and I keep wishing I could skin them all so their slain mommies didn't die for naught! I've also been eating tracker snacks so that I can see the foxes as soon as they spawn from a distance.

I farmed for about 5 hours yesterday and haven't had it drop yet. I found it easier in my last hour when there was 1 other person farming though. It turned out that I could kill each fox twice before moving on to the next area and me and the other farmer were hardly at conflict. Much more conveniant w/ atleast one other farmer in the vicinity. Good luck to all trying to get this wee bugger. Battle.Net rates it at 1%-2% drop rate but I'll agree with that 0.1% chance... it makes me weep!
