Turtles seem to be one of the weakest kinds of pets for PvP. Even the 260 power ones only have 100% to hit spammable attacks that hit for well below 300 damage. You need to force matchups to face pets where your attacks are strong to get the most out of the turtles. Three areas where Turtles can do less bad is. 1. Undead, aquatic racial and heal with powerball. 2. Elementals you can catch with Grasp. 3. Rabbits, use shell, bite and headbutt. Turquoise kind is not very special.
I got lucky and got a rare 1st try. I love this turtle. Lvl 25 now and going strong. :)
I was ridiculously lucky on this one. Very first one was a rare. Very neat looking, going to have to level him!
I was hoping not to be in the same boat as the two previous posts and luck was smiling on me. I made one round of the spawn areas, killing any spawns that were common or poor and was about halfway through my second trip when I was attacked by a pvp'er from the opposite faction. After dispatching with him, my second Turquoise was rare. Luckily, I was not re-engaged by the pvp'er and caught the sneaky rare! (A PVP interruption happened once in Hellfire and I lost the rare). Caught at 43, 60.
Right now, I'm wholly in Miusleeping's camp, except for the hallucination about having caught a rare. One and a quarter times around about the whole of Azshara, bored now. I am the Turtle Decimator, leveller of Critters off the corpses of the shelled. One tour of Bilgewater itself, then I'm going to do my dailies.
Why are the commonest spawns the most annoying rares to find?
After 2 days of several hours, and leveling a couple of hundred of my 450 some odd pets (some twice), I've come to the conclusion that there aren't any rares and those of you who claim to have them are delusional with great imaginations. Wish I had a great imagination. :(
The boredom of hours and hours of pet battles must be causing hallucinatations because I'm thinking I have a rare at last. I'm taking a nap and if I wake and its still with me, I'll know its my imagination this time.
Finally got my rare after 33 poor 1 common 29 uncommon. His name is Leonardo. he rounds out my spiny terrapin (michelangelo), Emerald Turtle (Raphael), softshell snapling (Donatello) and Giant Sewer Rat (Splinter).
Got my rare on the beach my the Ruins of Eldarath after about 4 fights. There were plenty around and I can confirm that sometimes Twilight Spiders are their secondaries.
Found a HERD of them wondering around the shattered strand in Azshara! Easy Peasy!
got an uncommon first try, but am going to see if i cant get a rare, he is adorable good luck. got mine at the ruined reaches where the little gnomes are. (uncommon)
update: an hour later for farming, i got my rare just under the horde harbor sigh what a pain lol
Found my rare around bilgewater harbor
I love this little guy, took me about 4 or 5 tries to get my rare and he really kicks butt!
took nearly *30* battles to get anything higher than a common!
You can fine these around Bilgewater Harbor. You can also find these on the beach just Southwest of the Darnassian Base Camp
