This pet is obtained via open-water coastal fishing on the Darkmoon Island. See El's Extreme Anglin's guide: Catching Sea Pony for more information.

Players may only farm for this pet one week per month due to the Darkmoon Island only being accessible the first week out of every month.

The Sea Pony has a unique summoning animation in which the player's hands are enveloped with globes of water, and a splashing animation and noise is made upon the pet's spawning.

It is not as always as easy as other people make it to be. I tried for this pet the day Darkmoon Faire was available, and it took me 5 1/2 hours and 1,056 casts. Not very fun. Not to mention the guy next to me who got it in 5 casts. Though, you should never give up! I almost did and if I did I would of never gotten the cutey. I can confirm you can fish it at any level. 272 casts for mine. It was nice to be a DK and use path of frost to fish away from everyone else. I did not have fishing maxed when I caught it. I was about 455 when I finally caught the little guy.

I just got the sea pony...I didn't count casts but it took about 1/2 hour of continuous fishing. Honestly I was expecting it to take much longer.

I always wanted a pony when I was a small gnome, but I never imagined I'd find one living in a bubble! No... it's not quite the pony I dreamed of as a child, but it does provide a percolating playmate for my water elemental.
