This pet was originally implemented during a 5.3 patch world event, Battlefield Barrens. The Darkspear Quartermaster sold Gahz'rooki for one Radical Mojo.

As of Patch 5.4 the world event and quartermaster was removed. However, the mobs introduced with Battlefield Barrens remained. Players now have a chance of looting Gahz'rooki from the Kor'kron orcs in Northern Barrens.

I managed to get it after only maybe twenty kills! I thought that that was the norm at first so I started to farm some more in the hopes of getting one for a friend, but after awhile I realised that apparently twenty kills wasn't the norm. Still, glad I got one!

Ghaz'rooki is the second most powerful aquatic pet. Able to heal himself while dealing out substantial damage puts him in a wonderful spot to counter enemy elementals. The sea pony is a stronger choice for the same role.

I can confirm as of 10/22/14   , I had it drop off a Hellscream Laborer up in way top left of North Barrens.  I was grinding these and Kor'Kron Maurauders for about a hour to a hour and 1/2 and it dropped. I also got a 24 slot bag drop to.

I've been checking AH for this pet for the past few weeks, consistenly finding it at around 3kg or so (a price at which I would rather farm the pet because I'm a cheapskate >m>) However, today one popped up for 850g! I didn't hesitate to snatch it up and save myself hours of mindless farming. Very cool-looking pet, and bigger than I expected. (love using the magical bisuit on him! He gets huge)

This pet appears to have become a rare drop in the barrens, and is no longer purchasable as of patch 5.4

Sad face.

Yes you can still get this pet. I just ground out the Battlefield: Barrens scenario and quest, and purchased this from Ravika.

Haven't seen this anywhere on the WoW sites, but... I'm sure that Gahz'rilla and Gahz'rooki are references to an 80's Saturday morning cartoon show of Godzilla animated adventures, and his 'son' or 'nephew' or some other wacky relation on the show was named Godzooky. Silly little comedy-relief mascot character. I think Godzooky could talk, for some reason... and had webbed armpits so he could fly around. Yay!

Warning to all Pet collectors out there.  Blizz have stated that once patch 5.3 (Escalation) is done then the quests will change and you won't have the weekly quest to receive the item to buy him.  Possibly means that this will be a one off chance to grab pet.

I've not levelled him yet, although his abilities look cool, he has the Beast moves I like, so levelling will be a breeze at the Tavern in the Mists.

The easiest way to do the quest is to kill the elites. If you do it now, whilst people are still interested, then there are usually a handful of people there. They are no longer tap to faction, so its a free for all!

When i heard about this lil guy i just had to have him. So i started the weekly quest to get him. Took about 2 hours but was so worth it! The animation where his middle head tricks all the other heads is funny!

I got him on the second day. He makes a pretty decent fighter against elementals. He is cagable. He's also large. I gave him a magical pet biscuit and he stands the same hight as my night elf.

He makes water sounds when he stands around.

My item level is too low to do the scenarios. Is this guy cageable? I know the item itself binds on pick-up.

So far have only done it on horde, but I assume that its a similiar process to get this cute little guy. The chain pops in Shrine, sending you to Lorewalker Cho, he has you do some Scens to get caught up on the storyline as it stands, then he sends you to Vol'jin. You do not get any Radical Mojo until you finish the chain and complete the daily. (Chain finish gets you 502 boots, btw)

Radical Mojo can be used for a few cool things, buying Gahz'Rooki is the coolest, imo.

He is very cute and very noisy!

The quest chain itself is just timeconsuming.  it's easy to pull more mobs than you can handle when collecting the stone and meat for it.  Well worth it though, looking forward to battling with him.

The trolls have a long and storied history of summoning hydras. While he might not be the biggest or strongest hydra, Gahz'rooki will bite your fingers quite hard if you get too close.
