A flying mount or flight form (druids) is required to fish for [Mr. Pinchy]. When you click [Mr. Pinchy], he grants a wish. You get three wishes total. Wishes are on a 48-hour cooldown. One of five possible outcomes is a [Magical Crawdad Box]. Therefore, this already rare item does not even guarantee the drop, making the pet even more rare. 430+ fishing is recommended. I was EXTREMELY lucky when it came to catching my crawdad. For starters, I managed to catch Mr. Pinchy within the first hour of trying. Then I immediately made my first wish and received a bunch of healing and mana potions — no pet. But a minute later, the world server went down. Upon relogging, not only did I still have the potions, but Mr. Pinchy reset himself, restoring all three wishes plus his cooldown! So I made my second "first" wish and got my crawdad! Yahoo!
Wonder if they will ever make a cooking pet. A Gingerbread Boy perhaps?
It was minutes before my 3rd wish was available when my friend invited me to come to Silithus with him to witness him earning the Thunderfury. I save my wish and wait patiently for his achievement to be announced in our guild.
As soon as it happened, I right-clicked Mr. Pinchy and got an achievement of my own! I now refer to his new sword as "Thunderstolen," Blessed Blade of the Windseeker.
It might not be the easiest pet to get, but if you are serious about battling and levelling your pets, you CANT go without the Magical Crawdad. I would argue this guy is the single most useful pet in the game for blowing through single-player content and it can even SOLO a couple of pandaria trainers. Wish being a ridiculously great heal, a huge health pool to abuse said heal, shell armor to basically nullify stampedes and other DoTs - this immovable wall will make your game EZ mode.
Mr. Pinchy makes a great power leveler for your team. With his area heals that last three rounds (you can switch another character in for two of those rounds), and his "Wish" that heals the next battle pet for 50 percent of their hit points, Mr. Pinchy makes an excellent cleric for your battle pet party.
Got Magical Crawdad on my first wish.
Yay! After years of sporadically fishing for him, and two hours of specifically intense fishing, I finally got Mr. Pinchy, and his second wish yielded up the magical crawdad box. So awesome. A cool pet and one step closer to the Salty title to boot.
Fished up "Mr. Pinchy" (not the Magical Crawdad Box), who provided three wishes (charges), each followed by a 4 hour cooldown. You have to be Level 55 to "use" a charge. Fished him up by fishing the Highland Mixed Schools in Blackwind Lake in Terokkar Forest exclusively, where you go to do the Skettis dailies. It took a total of 193 successful casts.
Spent yesterday leveling some pets. Got this guy up to 24. He has easily earned a spot as a primary member of my main team.
As others have noted, etremely durable with decent damage. What's not to love?
I've had him a while now, Was leveling fishing on an alt and decidied why not do it where I had a chance to get him. Took 2 to 3 hours, but I was going to be leveling fishing anyway, so it worked out. Now that I've actually started using him, I see how well it worked out.
omg i decided to go get this pet. 1st cast got mr punchy and first use and i got the Magical Crawdad Box. :D STOKED 2.39pm server time on Aman'thul
Visited Lake Jorune and Lake Ere'Noru. Nothing. Came back a couple days later and got him on my first wish in Blackwind Lake. Maybe 40 casts total if that. For once I got lucky with a pet!! Good luck to all!
Fished him up today! Was just bored, and messing around, and got him on the 15th cast. LOL! Anyone know if I cage him to sell, do I still have him, or do I lose him? I just collect - I don't battle - so I've no idea about this stuff. Thanks!
Similar to another poster's experience below, I fished this up on my 47th attempt today. The pet was what I got on the first wish. The second wish was a giant irate Mr Pinchy trying to kill me. Not sure what the third wish will bring yet. The timer on the wish is 4 hours.
This guy's a stud. Leveled him from 1 to 25 and he was almost always pretty much my tank. Crazy health, nice heals, and good steady damage make him a formidable, if unspectacular, part of any team. Mine is named "Mssr Pinchy".
Shaping up to be one of my fav pets for battling. If you keep Renewing Mists up, he's extremely durable, and you can use Whirlpool on cooldown for some pretty big damage. Also, I've only gotten mine to 16 so far, but it seems like he has freakishly high health for his level.
Plus there's the emotional attachment... I fished for this guy for at least a month, sometimes for hours a day, before battles even came out. Probably the most time I've ever sunk into a pet, lol.
Extremely durable, if you run it with renewing mists and wish you'll find that there are very few pets who can take it out without flying moves.
What would be really hot is if he was classified as a magic pet so he could only take 50% of max health per attack. That along with Wish would make this pet ridiculous.
