Emperor Crab
The emperor crab was named for its regal appearance: the ridges of its shell and its raised claws eerily resembling a crown. One that would pinch your eyes out if you tried to wear it.

Named mine "Bane of Nishi" as he can easily solo all 3 pets of that master in VoFW. I use this battle everyday to level a pet by throwing up mists then swapping in low pet right after sunflower casts sunlight.
Rocks against 'most' elementals. :)
This pet has the ability to hold down any group through leveling as it is capable of self/current pet heals and the use of an average damaging ability. At times, this pet is almost cheating, even against NPC pet trainers
So many other crabs come in the H/H 6,16 breed, but only this and the other panda crab (spirebound) have the P/P 4,14 breed, so why have another H/H? Edit, the goblin crab also currently comes in a P/P, but it might not when it gets changed. Anyone know what its getting changed to? I would guess its going to be B/B but I really hope not.
Love this guy. He's the anchor on my team and once the first 2 have beaten on the enemy for a while they have little chance of over coming his shield and self healing.
Happy to say that my 1st was a 25 rare, piggy-backed on a snail. ;) I was stoked to say the least.
I just can't find a rare to save me. I did however, use a lvl 22 uncommon to defeat Majro Payne's Bloom elemental.
Caught as second on the coast
Breed 4, 14 of this bad boy has huge attack! Since healing is affected by attack, this guy is an amazing healer and can pack a punch with his offense, too.
I got lucky and found a rare one of breed 4, 14 on my third try!
i had the same problem as you Valielina....cept for some reason when i went to northrend to fight major payne an checked my achieve again it had givin me credit for all the ones i had caught that it had said i didnt
Got one tonight on the coast. Poor quality. I was surprised to see it on my map, assumed it would be a second pet after looking for so long. I also noticed that this pet, along with several others I caught around the same time were not showing up as being caught under the safari achieve, and as i entered battle with the same pets it said they had not been caught yet as well. They are in my pet journal though. Opened a ticket, haven't heard back yet.
This doesn't seem to be required for the Pandaria Safari achievement, even though it says it is. I got the achieve when I caught the next-to-last-pet I needed for it, leaving just this one.
I renamed my Emperor Crab "Tank" because he just doesn't die. Surge negates the speed advantage and because of the crab's power score hits almost as hard as a regular attack. Renewing Mists is a constant and powerful heal that also heals other pets you swap in and Whirlpool is a nice way to double up a powerful strike with a regular strike during the same turn.
Got 2 rare tonight. Still no idea wich rare suits the most for his role.
first : Dps

Second : Tank

I think Emporor crab will benefiet most from a tank stat as imo with healing wave and shell shield becoming almost unbeatable. At the end, it's a matter of strategie i guess :-)
I was unable to find this crab wandering the world ready to battle, as seems to be confirmed by wowhead. He turned up roughly once every 5 battles when I fought rapana whelks in the Briny Muck, though. Insolent crabs, indeed.
{update} as of 5.1 this is no longer true. This pet can be found as a first in the Briny Muck alongside the whelks. Happy hunting!
Found this as a secondary to the rapana whelks on the coast
