WarcraftPets.com provides a fun, entertaining, and informative website for the World of Warcraft community. In that spirit, members of this site are encouraged to participate and share to make the site even more enjoyable for all who visit.
However, engaging in any form of inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. Should a user violate any of the guidelines listed below, disciplinary action(s) will be taken.
False Collections
Users should not submit a false pet collection. This is often done for the sole purpose of rising to the top of the Top 50 Collections list or to appear as one of the only users who obtained an ultra-rare pet. This behavior compromises the legitimate efforts of those users who are honest. Such activity will result in:
- First offense: The deletion of the user's pet collection; the user may restore a legitimate collection thereafter.
- Repeat offenses: The flagging or permanent suspension of the user's account; if suspended, attempts to create additional accounts will be blocked.
Additionally, Site Admins reserve the right to delete a user's account (without warning) for blatant fraudulence.
Commenting and Messaging
All comments and messages to be shared both publically or privately via the site's messaging system should not include any speech that is deemed "inappropriate". This includes speech that is racial, violent, sexual, obscene, disrespectful, or malicious in any way. Such statements will be removed and the offending user's account will likely incur a permanent suspension.
Inappropriate statements include (but are not limited to) the following categories:
Racial/Ethnic
This category includes both clear and masked language and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:
- Promote racial/ethnic hatred
- Are recognized as a racial/ethnic slur
- Allude to a symbol of racial/ethnic hatred
Extreme Sexuality/Violence
This category includes both clear and masked language and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:
- Refer to extreme and/or violent sexual acts
- Refer to extremely violent real life actions
- Pornography
Sexual Preference
This category includes both clear and masked language and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:
- Insultingly refer to any aspect of sexual preference pertaining to themselves or other players
Posting Cheats, Hacks, or Malicious Content
This category includes:
- Posting links to cheats, hacks, Trojan horses, or malicious viruses / programs
Obscene/Vulgar
This category includes both clear and masked language in posts, signatures, and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:
- Are an inappropriate reference to human anatomy or bodily functions
- Are pornographic in nature
Inappropriate Language
This category includes both clear and masked language and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:
- Are a mildly inappropriate reference to human anatomy or bodily functions
- Are otherwise considered objectionable
- Bypass the Obscene Language filter
Harassing or Defamatory
This category includes both clear and masked language and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:
- Insultingly refer to other characters, players, or groups of people
- Result in ongoing harassment to other characters, players, or groups of people
Religion
This category includes both clear and masked language and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:
- Negatively portray major religions or religious figures
National
This category includes both clear and masked language and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:
- Promote national hatred
- Are recognized as national slurs
- Allude to symbols of national hatred
Spamming and Trolling
This category includes:
- Excessively communicating the same phrase, similar phrases, or pure gibberish
- Creating comments for the sole purpose of causing unrest
- Causing disturbances, such as picking fights, making off-topic comments, insulting other users
Advertising and Soliciting
This category includes:
- Attempting to publicly sell or buy any personal wares, whether in-game or otherwise
- Providing a link to any external website for the sole purpose of promoting that site
- Providing a link to any competing "vanity pet collecting" website.
- Providing a link to any any non-beneficial, unrelated businesses or organizations
Inappropriate Characters
This category includes:
- POSTING COMMENTS IN ALL CAPS
- Excessive use of ASCII art
Circumventing Suspension
This category includes:
- Creating a new account when your account has been suspended
- Having someone create an account on your behalf
Reporting a Member
If you witness the misconduct of another member as defined above, you should report it immediately. The matter will be investigated upon receiving your grievance.
Inappropriate Comments
To report another member for a comment he/she made, click the [Report] link found directly adjacent to the comment.
Inappropriate Messages
To report another member for a message he/she sent to you through this site, forward the message to admin{a}warcraftpets.com.
False Collections
To report an obviously false collection, contact us and report the member by name.
Disciplinary Actions
First Offense: A Warning
Typically, members who break the rules once will receive a warning (via email), especially for minor infractions. However, if the rules are broken in a major or obvious way, the member's account could be flagged.
Second Offense: Account Flagged
A user's account will be flagged following a second offense and sometimes following a first offense depending on the severity of that offense. Flagged members are ineligible for a Top 50 ranking. In addition, flagged members are hidden from public view and will not be listed on our comments page or within user search results. Furthermore, the ability to message other users is disabled. Finally, so long as a member remains flagged, he/she will be ineligible for MVP status.
Third Offense: Permanent Suspension
Third-time offenders will incur a permanent suspension. Any accounts traced to that user will be removed from the site. Attempts to create additional accounts will be blocked. Additionally, WarcraftPets.com reserves the right to deny offending visitors access to the site entirely.
Account Deletion
A user who engages in obvious misconduct within his/her first week of joining the site may have his/her account deleted outright. This action is taken at the discretion of the Site Admin.
It is our hope that those who choose to create user accounts will use them for their intended purposes and keep their demeanor light and fun. After all, this site is all about fun. Please do your part to preserve that spirit while logged into your account.
