Can't battle MoP pet trainers?

Had this problem for a while now where I can't battle any of the trainers in Pandaria. I can talk to them but the option to fight just isn't there.

Am I missing a quest chain or anything that I need to do to "unlock" them?

I can battle the trainers in Draenor just fine but have never been able to do the ones for Pandaria.

Did you finish the Cataclysm Trainers? I think that has to be done to open MoP trainers.

Like everything else in WoD, trainers seem to be "fresh", not linked to a previous expansion. (See profession leveling for what I mean by everything else).

If you did, then it's probably a bug, and I'd put in a ticket. Good luck!
