Raven and Crows

Post by Laraven » June 2nd, 2014, 7:37 am

So I have been looking for patch note changes. Can't find any.

With Call of darkness up, Noc. Strike is missing more then hitting. This happened in every PVP match I have done for hours today. Anyone know whats up? Sucks considering my go to team is Crow (s/s), Raven (s/s), and Frosty... :(

I have not seen that issue. My Nocturnal Strikes have been landing every time with Darkness up. Are you sure there isn't something the opponent did that is affecting it?

Remember Elementals is unaffected by negative weather. So they are never considered blind.

That would not factor into Nocturnal Strike missing tho.

Yes it will - hit chance on Nocturnal Strike is 50% if the target is not blinded.

On the contrary. Read closely about [ability]Nocturnal Strike[/ability]

3 Round Cooldown

50% Hit Chance

Deals 788 Flying damage.

Base hit chance increased to 100% if the target is Blinded .

And [ability]Call Darkness[/ability]
5 Round Cooldown

100% Hit Chance

A shadow falls across the battlefield, dealing 591 Humanoid damage and turning the weather to Darkness for 5 rounds.

During Darkness, all pets are considered Blinded and all healing received is reduced by 50%.

Elemental benefit

Elemental
Passive:
Elementals ignore all negative weather effects.

Hit chance vs elemental would actually be 40% since the bird is blinded as well.

Yeah. Elementals are actually brutal against a blind team. It's one of the few times when the elemental racial is actually good.

Woops. I was thinking Nocturnal Strike said "hit chance raised to 100% if weather is Darkness".

Sorry.

I just wanted to second Laraven on this. It has to be a bug. I actually had this happened against me in my last PVP battle. It was a stoke of good luck for me, as it let me win, but I feel a bit guilty about it. I didn't have any elemental pets in my team and his Noc Strike still missed with darkness up. My active pet was blinded and I had no blocks up of any kind so it should've hit.

It can still miss since the bird is blinded. So while the attack gets a base 100% hit it will still be affected by the blind -10% to hit. Still 90% is a huge imrovement from 50%.

Just today I faced someone running Crow/Raven/Moth. Too bad I was trying out Ominous Flame and my opponent kept insisting on trying lady luck with 40% to hit. Still very unlucky missing 6 Nocturnal Strikes over two games.
