new PvP Pet Battles Forum

Post by Silverthorn » December 10th, 2013, 9:29 pm

Hey, how about a new PvP Pet Battles Forum?

I'm looking for some new ideas on PvP Pet teams and the current winning strategies.... and it's hard to find those posts amidst all the other posts here.

Thanks for considering,

Silverthorn

Moving this to the Suggestions section of the forum since it's more appropriate to discuss there.

A new section might be helpful for those who mainly participate in just PVP Pet Battles, but at the same time we'd like to keep the number of sections and sub-section to a minimum to avoid clutter. We're open to more opinions/thoughts on this matter though!

I think making two seperate sections for PvP and PvE battles is a good idea. It can be kind of a pain trying to decide if someone is talking PvP or PvE battles unless they specifically say it. For example someone starts a tread "What are the best battle pets?" or "What breed is best for X pet?" are they talking for PvP, PvE or both? And that happens often. So seperating them would definitly make things easier.

On the other hand useing the same examples if they where looking for answers for both PvP and PvE then where whould they put their questions?
"Even when you are winning soundly, you must always give your opponent a way to retreat with honor. If you don't, then he has no reason to surrender. He will fight until the bitter end, and you will pay a larger price for victory."

Another point to mention is that the Tamer battles don't change all that often.

On the other hand, the PvP scene changes frequently with stealth nerfs and new approaches. Things that worked last week often won't work this week.

This is why having two separate forum sections might end up unnecessary. Although the PVP section might see a lot of traffic and posts, the PVE one could wind up barren and unused in comparison.

Rather than another new forum area, what does everyone think about requiring users to state the direction of the discussion in their forum subject title? PVE, PVP and blank for a general battling thread. It would end up looking something like this
  • [PVE] Fastest way to level pets?
  • [PVP] Strat ideas to counter heal teams
  • How does "hit chance" work?

That's a great way to do it Quin. It will definitly help with cleaning things up a bit in the Battle section.
