I see that Son of Animus is the key to winning a lot of fights. I can't even get one!

The thing to watch for is he will pretty much 2-shot all of your pets, almost guaranteed, so you have to kill him with 2 hits per pet (and if you miss, it'll be a loss, probably).
I need to re-run the fight as I am not positive I used the moves above, but it's a starting point for you.
