Fire Beetle /
Lava BeetleDefinitely my favourite (two...) of the Beetle pet family! Still sitting in the Critter family they've got a nice palate of skills at hand. Whether you choose to go with
Burn or
Flank is moot; they're both great skills without cooldowns. While
Hiss makes sure
Flank has a greater chance of putting out its maximum potential and
Scorched Earth is an outright great skill, both great for general Wild Pet battles, they don't compare to the combination of
Cauterize and
Apocalypse in those lengthy Tamer battles, as well as PvP Pet Battles!
While
Apocalypse did recieve an increased CD it is exceptional, especially if you can keep that beautiful little bug alive! On a personal note; I love matching this guy with a
Magical Crawdad and
Singing Sunflower: combine their skills pallet and you have a very tanky, healing team - which while still doing damage, will lead to the enemy pet dropping dead and a pretty red Beetle surviving!
Singing Sunflower buffs up both pets: using
Sunlight the weather is changed; increasing the Health and healing done of all pets. It doubles the effect of
Photosynthesis too, making it much easier for you to switch to your next pet...
Magical Crawdad is the teams tank, more so with Sunny weather - the poor guy must be burning up!

. Using
Renewing Mists there's a lot of HoTs (Healing over Time) active on your team. Next turn a
Wish is in order before switching back to your lovely
Fire Beetle/
Lava Beetle to see them get healed (probably to full health) and back in game to heal themselves and fight some more!
The full track of switching pets lasts 7 rounds in total; switching to
Singing Sunflower and finally back to your
Fire Beetle/
Lava Beetle. Two round trips and, if you're back on your Beetle,
Apocalypse activates.
However this does not account for stuns/weather changes - but that doesn't mean it will not work. It is by all means a slow, but fun process! No one likes the player that never dies but your pets certainly will.

Grunty!
