Sadly, the area is so well camped on the two servers I have access to, I've practically given up on this one. The super long spawn timer plus the shear number of people camping for it, has made it impossible to get. I'd do a cross server invite to a low population server any time to get just a poor version as I have a flawless stone.

I just happened to fly by. I already had a poor one and was waiting on a stone. There were TONS around with noone going after them and I got myself a rare! I even had time to log onto my wifes and get her one. After that I left an announcement that there were some available in general chat.

I have given up on this pet. I had camped an alt for weeks without luck. I will wait until Blizzard decides to update the spawn times and/or all the other collectors have taken Tuesdays off from work to get it after a restart.

Got mine today on Venture company at 4 34 pm(CST). Saw five today. I just made a dk (level 58) made my way to icecrown, by jumping off a ledge in dalaran, and rezzing, and a lot, of deaths, but just kept going. It was tedious, but worth it. I've been looking for weeks for this pet. Good luck to anyone who tries to get this pet.

There are at least 2 realms which are not Crzed because they are the only realm type in their data center (Venture Company, Ravenholt).

1. Create a dk and do the 1st 3 to 5 quests, just enough to fly down to the ground where the scarlet mobs are.
2. Fight mobs until you get 2 gold (five minutes tops).
3. Mail 2 gold to a Level 1 character.
4. Log Level 1 and take Zep/boat to Northrend, then take the the 2 gold flight to Dalaran.
5. Next to the flight master in Dalaran, there is an Argent Ambassador. He will give you a free flight to the Argent tournament grounds.
6. Take the short run to the Silent vigil area and tame your whelp.

There is no need to level a dk through the starting zone. No need to death hop from Dalaran. You'll have access to 10 possible spawn points (more but you'll aggro lots and die frequently). This method and logging in at server restart appear to be the best ways to tame one. It's terrible game design. I also recommend going to the ptr and seeing exactly where these things spawn.

I am really wondering how this CRZ crap works actually.
Yesterday morning I was waiting for the server to come back up, and checked about every 15 minutes.
So the server was up for maximum 15 minutes when I logged in, and the place was already being camped by 3 people.

So either I have to get up at 5 AM to have a chance, or just wait until 5.2.
Not that 5.2 will necessary improve my chances, because the minfernal has got the same elusive behaviour on my server.
I wonder what the respawn time is for these 2 pets atm.
2 hours? 5 hours?

Easy to get if you're able to be on when servers come back up after maintenance or 24 hours later thereafter. I've never seen them at all during other times of the day when logging in to check periodically.

I'm very stuck on this one too. I log on and check between 2 am server - 6 am server on two different realms Vashj and Cenarius and I have had NO luck for WEEKS with this pet. Seriously considering throwing this one away until 5.2 anyways and see if blizz improves it. With the Miniinfernal I DID have luck with this one at 3:30 am server on Vashj. Just this one seems to never come up. I am thinking of trying the Venture Co DK/1 level thing. Let you know if I have any luck.

Hmmm..I was giving up on this one too, but I might try the Venture Co trick. I am a little nervous about the PVP realm, though, since this is not my strong suit. Does it just mean corpse running all the time? Is there a way to avoid getting ganked on a realm like that?

With the advent of flying mounts you generally don't have to worry about much. Most people out and about mind their own business. That said, I did lose my first rare quality scourged whelp because someone attacked me mid fight and, while I killed them, my precious pet did not last through aoe attacks.

I would like to reiterate that more important than avoiding CRZ is checking the spawns after a server reset or every 24 hours after that. Once I stuck to that I got mine no problem while Minferno and Irradiated Roach are still next to impossible for me to find.

Please, please Blizzard (and I wish they would read these forums, sigh).....grant us one CRZ free day...just a CRZ free holiday, like the war free days some countries did at Christmas...so the collectors who have day jobs and who can't be there at server reset can finally get their scourged whelpings. Then we can go back to the CRZ idiocy. Oh well....

There is a theory that if you check 24 hours AFTER restart then there will be a large number of them. I havn't tried this (i got mine before they "fixed" it) but I do intend to try it on the minfernal. But you have to know the exact time your server comes up after maintenance or reset so you can come online at that time the next day.

Oh really? If that theory is correct, then that would explain why I saw a bunch this morning... my server came down for a restart yesterday morning.
