New Pets Datamined for 5.2

Wowhead has datamined some new pets in the latest 5.2 PTR release:

• Mountain Panda
• Snowy Panda
• Son of Animus
• Spectral Porcupette
• Stunted Direhorn
• Sunfur Panda
• Sunreaver Micro-Sentry
• Zandalari Hatchling

That's in addition to the previously discovered pets:

• Gusting Grimoire
• Living Sandling
• Red Panda

In addition, there is a new Pet Battle achievement, Fabled Pandaren Tamer, for defeating a new Elite Pet, and a new bag of pet supplies, Fabled Pandaren Pet Supplies. Elite pets are really tough pets, accessible via a quest, that are meant to be fought with your entire team.

So it sounds like the 4 pandas will work similar to the Pandaran Spirits. you beat the elite pet and get to choose one, and then you can do a daily for a chance to get another one in the special bag...

I hope the new Raid pets drop in LFR. I'll be pissed if they don't as I just stopped raiding this Xpac for the first time since Vanilla.

ooh that would be really nice! Or maybe if they acted like wild pets within the instance, since we don't need a full raid group to enter raids anymore!!!

Would also like to see more pets from old content and make another Raiding with leashes extension.. maybe a [Raiding with more leashes] and the prize would be a mini Malygos or something! lol

So the Direhorn and the Hatchling are just going to be random drops off stuff from around the isle?

I'm not complaining*. I figured those would be the harder ones to get, like you'd have to track something down and kill it for a chance (like grinder).

*Yet at any rate. If the drop rate is anywhere close to what the drop rate was on the last drop from any random mob pet (Tol Barad Fox Kit), I'm sure I'll be one of many complaining in the future.

I also hope the pets in the raid are somehow simple to get, either inside or using LFR, as I have not even been doing the new dungeons let alone raids, since there is so much nice rep. gear and upgradable. Blizzard made the game fun again for individuals with this expansion.

Interesting. Is the egg unique by any chance? If so, that's a clever way to prevent over-camping.

Currently this appears to be part 4 of a chain that asks for progressively higher amounts of bones, going up to 10,000 for a mount.

I would think that the amounts of bones will be adjusted a bit.

I don't know. We've already had to collect 2000 tokens for the chance to find the pet in the latest patch on the live servers.
