Ipad issue

I sometimes run into an issue when I make corrections (fixing autocorrect, ect) that I can't type anything. If I relaunch my keypad, it will work again. Just annoying is all. Anything I can do to fix this? It took me 5 minutes just to type sumprush!

Personally, I'm not sure. My iPhone seems to work fine.

Is anyone else having this issue?

It is a first gen iPad, hitch can not be upgraded to ios6, which may have something to do with it. I'll work on getting better details on recreating it, but if this is specific to Pre iOS 6, I may be SoL.
