My Celestial Tournament Guide

Post by Waynebrady » February 9th, 2014, 7:44 pm

I wrote this a while back for my brother, who was relatively new to pet battles. I figured that since I've seen people looking for Celestial Tournament Guides, and I already wrote it in Word, I would post it. These pets are typically what I use, and I know there are probably better teams for certain bosses (please post them and I can update the guide). I know, there aren't any breeds in this but I've found that in most cases the breed didn't matter for me.

Small Disclaimer: Since I did write this several months ago I have probably since changed several teams. Most of the teams were given to me by other players. The Legendary pets are 100% kill ratio, while I can't necessarily say the same for the bosses, but they definitely work. Again, if you have better teams feel free to post them. Oh yeah, and pardon any spelling errors, or random (TOP) entries. In my original guide document I had links to each of the bosses (from the top), and then links back up to the top to choose another boss.

Thanks! Hopefully this helps someone.

I don't have a problem one shotting the tournament each month, I just figured some others may benefit from some help. :)

Thanks for the info, I'll dig through and see if I can pull some better teams to swap with some I've listed.

Thank you for posting your combos.

I am relatively new to celestial tournament having only completed it the first time last week so this really helps a lot.

I have been using the wowhead one but some of the combos rely so heavily on rng.

One comment I would make is that for lorewalker Cho I have found Nether Faerie Dragon and 2 spiders to be more effective than your current strat.

For Lorewalker, all I do is use Nether Faerie Dragon first - cast moonfire, then 2x arcane blast (1st pet dies) then cast Life exchange, then swap pets to spider, keep up brittle web and spam spiderling swarm and strike. Normally kill the other two pets without needing to use my second spider. Its super effective and only uses very easily obtained wild pets.

I am going to give your Ion Goldboom strat a go now and see how I go, looks interesting!

Chi-Chi gave me a LOT of trouble last week, I kept missing or getting hit with strings of crits.

I love the simple tact for taking him down and am defo going to do this tonight.

While I "farmed" CT I always used the Howl-bomb above(well almost like that) for Chi-Chi. But with regard to certain other posts in there I just wanted to try something new.

Picked a Scourged Whelpling, Restless Shadeling and Nether Roach.
Scourged Whelpling, thinking Tail Sweep would always hit twice and the Darkness would hinder Tranquility. It was pretty much a wasted pet, it took some damage and did a bit. High health and undead makes it live long though.

But now to the stars of the show.
Restless Shadeling, spam 100% hit Arcane Blast. Even through the evasion since you buff your own attack even if you miss. High health and undead this one really punished Chi-Chi.

Nether Roach, spam 100% hit Nether Blast. The roach takes very little damage from Chi-Chi attacks and mine was H/H with 1800 health. It just finished this fight so easy.

100% hit moves, no RNG to talk about. Could probably switch the Scourged Whelpling for something even more effective.

There is a certain puzzle element, but there are lots of solutions.

Waynebrady and Vek, your Chi Chi strategies look nice. I'll try them both just for fun over the next two weeks of tournament. I have been using Liopleurodon's strategy (Fetish/Disgusting Oozeling/Enchanted Lantern) with 100% success every week on Chi Chi, but I like trying new combinations.

Here's a short video of Liopleurodon's Chi Chi strat: http://battlepetroundup.com/2013/09/01/celestial-tournament-chichi/

Vek, since your Shadeling was a little lackluster, try borrowing from her strat and use a Sen'jin Fetish or Fetish Shaman instead for your first pet. It doesn't matter what the fetish casts while it's alive. Just be sure it casts Wild Magic when it dies and resurrects. The increased damage Chi Chi takes as a result just melts him.

Arshadi, I was thinking something along those lines. Since it's a long fight I wonder if it might be even more useful with the 10 round debuff you can do with Kun-Lai runt. I'll just mix it up a bit next reset.

Sorry for the lack of response, I didn't realize this had any responses. I'm happy this helped some people. My legendary strats are pretty easy and work 99.9999% of the time. :) My boss teams can use a little work, but they have killed the CT each week so I'm happy with them.
