Dragonkin Choices

I just started getting a couple of my pets into early lvl 20s. Some strategies I've read on here suggest that Infinite Whelpling and Spawn of Onyxia are good options for Dragonkin, especially on Daily Trainers -and Celestial Dragon seems popular.

But I'm very partial to Soul of Aspects and Lil Tarecgosa.

Are either SoA(3) or Lil Tarecgosa(7) going to be able to cut it on my team in place of Infinite Whelp(4), Spawn of Ony(4) or Celestial Dragon(6)??? Or am I just going to be making my life difficult?

Basically I'm asking if it's the difference between just being more difficult or being almost impossible.

If you're not trying to 2v3 trainers in order to powerlevel pets, you have a lot of flexibility in pet choices. For example, Aspects was one of my first pets to 25 actually, and I used him a lot but ended up finding that Flayer Youngling was a lot better at killing critters + he could heal. As long as you line up weaknesses and/or defenses you're mostly fine, imo. There are exceptions where you just have to have a specific kind of pet or you will be miserable (fast rabbit or something snail for Earth Spirit).

I beat all the trainers with pretty silly groups, now that I think back. H/H frog, H/H Flayer, Soul, Gryphon Hatchling, Grunty, stuff like that :)

I can't say much for Tarecgosa though she wins in the looks - she's really only good for putting Wild Magic on.

Fussing over dragonkin isn't going to make or break you. Lil' Tarecgosa is an anti-flyer specialist; SoA is pretty solid overall, because Reflection is extremely strong, and you'll love this guy when you get to the Pandaren air spirit. For the daily trainers, you should try to get pets that directly counter the trainer's or are overpowered in general (fluxfire feline, anubisath idol, magical crawdad, emerald proto-whelp). If you restrict yourself to dragons, then the difference between the various options is really not that big. Spawn of Onyxia (breed 4) is probably the best dragon against trainers, in general, but the other options are not miles behind.

Thanks for input guys. As my SoA is levelling I am liking it more and more... if only he had a self heal. But he is holding his own and makes Spwn of Ony look like an ugly stepsister so I think I'll stick with him. :)
