Brittle Webbing Counter

Postby Grizz083 » November 17th, 2016, 11:07 pm

Is there any way to really shut this ability down long enough to kill the pet using it?
*Edit: I've already thought of dodge, burrow, blocks, and similar avoidance abilities. Like stoneskin does with stampede, anything that does the same to brittle webbing?

Consume Magic? I haven't tried it, but it seems like it might work.

Best way to counter it, is still with a sandstorm - ofc it doesnt 100% negate the effect but it reduces it enough.

You must have the patience of a saint.
Constantly using teams with a 10% miss chance would drive me to the brink of sanity.
Hence why I only run teams with little to no RNG elements.

Generally speaking, you can just go with Stoneskin, Shell Armor, or such flat-value blocks to negate the damage.

You can also safely use defensive moves, non-damaging status attacks (like Stone Prison) and delayed damage sources (like Doom or Geyser) without taking any immediate damage.

Conversely, DoTs, multi-hit attacks, or being affected by shreds such as Black Claw is definitely deadly.

Other options are dispelling it (via Consume Magic, preferably) or going with Haunt, as being dead will negate its damage even though you have a DoT ticking - but bear in mind that this will freeze the duration on Brittle Webbing, so it'll be active when your pet comes back to life.

Well my longest pet battle yet was 8 hours :)=
And cmon the 10% miss chance sandstorm brings is not as bad as its advantages are good.

Not really, no. Because, even then, you run the risk of getting matched up against elemental pets.

Also, abilities such as Flurry that have a 50% of proccing an extra hit, I generally avoid if at all possible.

260 speed pets, as hard as it is, I try to stay away from too to avoid the inevitable coin-toss of who goes first.

Clone Dance? With that hit chance? I know it's a solid comp, but I'll pass.

I'm not even gonna bring Trunks into this. /facepalm

Give me Surge pets.
Give me a Mana Surge/Ghostly Bite team.
Give me critters who don't care when your trap goes off.
Give me blatantly transparent pets like Iron Starlettes.

I know some will say it's boring, but I like knowing at the start of the match who is more likely going to win the battle. And the lack of almost all RNG from my side of the fight is a good way to limit an upset from happening.

Apologies for the side-track, OP.
All the posts above nail how to stop/avoid webbing.
