There is a Pandaren child that you get with the purchase of the school bell for 50 ironpaw cooking tokens. He/She is kind of like the Argent Gruntling. Would you consider Nomi a pet? You train Nomi in cooking and he/she gives you daily quests.

Nomi is not a true vanity pet since it requires an item to summon her. True vanity pets must follow the guidelines listed here.
