The swap itself appears to be random choice, and not based off of health.
It is based of health. Either that or I am extremely lucky. Every time without fail when leveling him and using him since, the swapped in pet was always the one with the highest current (not max) health.

I'll check it again today. Having some control over the swap would be nice.

I was using Murk as my opener while leveling him against Farmer Nishi, with a p/s eternal strider (1400 hp) and a h/p menagerie custodian (1627 hp). I opened with Righteous Inspiration and 6/6 times it picked the Custodian. I was trying to get the Strider so I reset it until I got bored and killed him anyway :P It's by no means definitive but it would definitely seem to be picking the higher hp pet for the swap.

Yeah, you'll get it, if you buy the virtual ticket at any time it's available. Or at least that's the way it has been previous years.

I'd say go for it - $40 is kind of steep, but this pet has unique and powerful moves and i's very unlikely to ever be available through any other means. But I'm a sucker for limited time only type deals so this is biased advice. :)

He's in my armory... and was last night when I logged out of WoW and updated here. I don't know why he wouldn't show for you.
Strange...
Are you US?
If you're EU like I am I guess it's time for me to ticket someone :)

Well, I'm sure it will show up on Ebay. But the price will most likely be 3 to 4 times higher.

Just while lvling him... It seems to me that it just swaps to the next pet "under" him. Unless my rng was waaay off. (and let's be honest the rng loves to play mind games with me)

It swaps to the pet with the current highest health, just like the tooltip says. Why are people so intent on not reading the tooltip?

I have it for three days now and love his animations. But it is not updating here in the warcraftpets site at all. Don't know why works for some and not for others.
Anyway glad to have him in my team. :D
