After finishing with hours of dailies and other assorted doings at the beginning of a lockout, and having collected several new pets. I turned my gaze towards the Isle of Giants. A quite interesting zone giving quite the vibe of vanila ungoro crater, but a much more dangerous place. Dont expect to easilly kill things there, Im a ilvl 489 elemental shaman and I could just about down the Primal Direhorn Hatchlings, but the Young Primal Devilsaurs was too much for me. But once I teamed up with others, things became a lot more manageable to do, spent some time 2man grinding with a dk, then a warlock and finally the first dk again. Took about 3 hours to collect 999 dinosaur bones and now I dont want to grind dinosaurs ever again!
But pretty much, depending on the size of the dino, the more bones it yields, with the biggest 5man dinos popping 40bones per kill. Though given the effort needed for those, I think its most efficient to 2man the skyscreamers which drops 16 bones per kill if you have a proper tank buddy, preferably a blood dk. The soloable direhorn hatchlings only gave 5-7 bones per kill, with the young devilsaurs give 11-12. Making the young devilsaurs the most efficient for 2 dps, 1 being a hunter or a warlock with tanky pet.
And from looking at the Spectral Porcupette, I think it a pet with much more potential and having far more interesting abilities than the abundant Zandalari raptors, which I find fairly uninspired. Also, the spectral porcupette is cageable, and you can repeat the turn in quest of 999 bones to gain more of them.
