elemental pets question

so lets say i have an elemental pet going up against a dragon pet with the thunderstorm. the elemental will not get the bonus to there attacks but when the opposition is attacking will they get the bonus, or will the elemental special negate it?

I've found that it's actually the opposite; the elemental's attacks will have the bonus damage applied, but the opponent's attacks will not do bonus damage to your elemental pet.

I used the Fel Flame for this exact reason when first starting the Pandaria Tamer battles (specifically against Aki's dragon).

The only time I notice it not in your favor is with something like the increased health from sunny day.

Your elemental pet also doesn't get the damage protection from Sandstorm. This is really noticeable when you're swapping in a low level elemental pet and they get stampeded.

This goes both ways. the defender elemental pets also don't get the protection. Noticed this early on with Wastewalker Shu and Seeker Zusshi. Shu's pet will actually cast it so it makes me laugh.
